This Sunna cosplay for the China International Comics Festival took considerable dedication, from the costume craftsmanship down to the props. The wig chosen was a light green wavy twintail with volume teased at the crown and soft curling at the ends to prevent a stiff look. Hair accessories included triangular and game console-style clips alongside cyan bows—nuances gathered piece by piece from reference art. The top is a short-sleeved white blouse accented with ruffles and a red ribbon tie at the chest. The pink-and-white striped arm warmers were custom-tailored, with elasticity fine-tuned multiple times so they wouldn't slide down during dynamic posing. Honoring the design, black leather harness straps were added to the arms and thighs. The skirt is a tiered black ruffled mini skirt with generous volume that flows dynamically in motion. On my legs, slouchy pink-and-white Striped socks paired with pink platform chunky-heeled pumps visually elongated the leg lines.
The small white wings on my back and the pink backpack were crucial for instant character recognition. The backpack was adorned with cartoon charms to infuse playful vibrancy into the overall silhouette. The prop held in hand is a megaphone-styled blaster featuring 'STAFF' lettered in white at the top, a central white square housing painted with cartoon motifs and decorated with a cyan ribbon, and fork-like prongs at the base. To ensure comfortable handling and waving during the shoot, PVC piping served as the internal core wrapped in EVA foam, keeping the weight well-managed so single-handed holding felt effortless.
The venue was scouted inside a modern architectural space featuring metallic railings, dark pillars, and window blinds. The cool ambient tones and polished floor reflections harmonized seamlessly with the mechanical, sci-fi themes of the Angels of Delusion. The photographer applied pronounced rim lighting, which not only illuminated the light green hair strands but also made the pink-and-white Striped socks and arm warmers pop against the dark backdrop. In the first shot, I chose a pose kicking one leg backward while glancing back toward the lens, highlighting the skirt's silhouette, rear wings, and striped socks. The second frame leveraged a forced-perspective composition reaching toward the camera, adding spatial depth while focusing visual interest on the face and blaster prop. The third shot, a high kick, demanded considerable core strength, requiring tight abdominal control to hold balance while showcasing leg contours, thigh straps, and striped socks to the fullest.
Posing-wise, I wanted to capture both the character's cheeky energy and a touch of robotic rigidity. During high kicks, weight anchored into the supporting leg with the torso tilted slightly backward and arms spreading naturally for equilibrium. Raising the gun also demanded careful wrist control to lend the prop visual weight before the lens. While physically exhausting, the shoot achieved every anticipated result—the interplay of light and shadow substantially elevated image texture. Every accessory in this look was refined step by step, and I hope it brings everyone a faithfully realized visual treat.
