[Ellen Joe Cosplay] Overtime Soul in Zenless Zone Zero: The Moment She Lifts the Greatsword

When I received this outfit and props for Zenless Zone Zero Ellen Joe cosplay, my first reaction was honestly, "This is going to be a huge photoshoot." From the black corset waist and white ruffle details of the Combat maid outfit to the heavy mechanical greatsword occupying nearly half the frame, faithfully recreating the look required immense effort.

Studio lighting setup on location took a long time to adjust, and both the studio lighting technician and photographer Mr. Wu Xie were exceptionally patient. To capture the sharp battle feel in Zenless Zone Zero, we designed a low-center-of-gravity kneeling stance. Resting one hand on the floor while gripping the massive sword with the other, this pose demanded significant core strength; all support points were concentrated on knees and ankles, compounded by high heels, making it far more physically demanding than it looks.

In the first image, we incorporated physical splash effects. As the heavy sword dragged across the floor, water sprayed up along the blade, pairing with the weapon's red glowing core to instantly fill the frame with overwhelming intensity. The gaze at this split second needed to convey a demeanor that was both cold and tinged with the annoyance of "workplace overtime," perfectly matching her signature trait of lazy lethargy blended with formidable pressure.

Alongside shots with splash effects, we also took cleaner, simpler versions like the second image to clearly highlight the structure of the weapon and outfit. The prop sword material was unique—crafted with mechanical assembly textures while ensuring lightweight handling. Even so, single-arm support while posing placed whole-body muscle control under heavy test. Releasing this set of Cosplay photography after wrapping the shoot, looking at the light and shadow textures, made every bit of effort feel thoroughly worthwhile. Mr. Wu Xie's mastery over composition and lighting during the Studio shoot was extremely professional, swiftly capturing the dangerous yet elegant vibe we sought. The Combat maid trope—blending domestic housemaid aesthetics with lethal combat strength—is truly striking. Putting on this outfit and executing this pose, I hope the final images allow fans who love this character to feel the chilly, decisive deadliness inherent to her lore.
