[Soldier 0 - Anby cosplay] The Clone of Zenless Zone Zero, Obeying Orders to Complete the Convention Photoshoot

This time, I completely replicated Soldier 0 - Anby's combat attire from Zenless Zone Zero, with the shooting focus placed on showcasing the character's calmness and tension on the battlefield. The layers of the entire outfit are incredibly rich, from the geometric hair accessory on top of the head with golden metal buckles and green-and-black lines, to the huge golden fan-shaped folded bowtie on the chest, combined with the asymmetrical cutting of black and white. Every step of wearing it required adjusting the fit of each piece of armor. The striped front skirt panel with a blue-gray base color at the waist, combined with yellow tassels and futuristic circular blue buckles on both sides—these details in front of the lens truly restore that specific light sci-fi anime mecha style of Zenless Zone Zero.

In terms of material selection, the white fabric of the jacket needs to stay crisp to support the weight of the black-and-gold colored shoulder armor on the shoulders, while the asymmetrical alphabetical markings and mesh textures on the protective gloves directly enhance the visual experience of tactical equipment. For the lower body, a white pleated mini-skirt was chosen to highlight the agility of the movements. The combination of black stockings and black high-heeled tactical boots not only makes the figure look slender and perfectly integrates into the character setting, but also indeed makes the overall styling highly eye-catching at the convention site.

The location for this convention photography session was a large hall at an anime convention, featuring rows of cool-toned overhead spotlights. After communicating with photographer @柠檬🍋, we decided to abandon overly sweet expressions and try our best to fit the character's mechanical state of not being good at expressing emotions. Borrowing the line mentioned in the post, 'Our birth is a sin, but we should not live as a sin,' I feel the essence of the character Soldier 0 - Anby lies in the fact that she seems cold on the surface, but in her actions, she is striving to break free from the shackles of being a 'tool.' Therefore, the shoot required not only static, serious stares but also dynamic snapshots of combat stances.

Among the few photos taken during this shoot, I really like the low-angle composition where I am kneeling on one knee and thrusting the weapon forward. The lens can perfectly capture the continuous lines of the black stockings, long boots, and leg armor. Meanwhile, the perspective of the sword tip pointing directly at the camera brings a strong sense of oppression, fitting her setting as combat personnel. For the other standing poses with dual-wielding long blades, I needed to intentionally straighten my back to allow the cutout structures of the outfit located at the waist sides and chest to present a just-right mechanical aesthetic. Preparing this weapon prop also took some thought; the silver-gray wide blade design with cutouts and fuller grooves makes it incredibly striking when swung, and its texture under the light forms a nice echo with the silver-white wig. Although walking around the venue holding heavy props was indeed highly exhausting, being able to ultimately present photos that align with the character's soul made all the hard work entirely worth it.
