[Chinatsu Remiel Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero KFC Collaboration Outfit Fitting and Fine Modification Musings

This KFC collaboration outfit for Chinatsu Remiel from Zenless Zone Zero arrived, and I immediately put in some overtime to try it on. Looking at the online reviews and combining it with this price point, plus my own upper-body effect, I can only say that just as everyone says, you really can't ask for too much for just over two hundred yuan. From the overall effect, the accessories and layering design of this outfit are more than I expected, belonging to the style with many attachments and a complex look.
Let's first talk about the main part of the clothing. This top features a white-and-pink color patchwork, with a horizontal pink block and printed design across the chest, and the outer corset part has white lacing and buckles, walking that line of functional techwear style mixed with a touch of sweetness. The thick red-and-white shoulder straps are visually eye-catching, and the wrapping sense and layering of the entire upper body are considered above the passing line for such a budget cosplay costume.
The pleated skirt hem of the lower body is layered, with a pink lining beneath the white main skirt, showing clear layers and a sense of rhythm when walking. Moreover, the length is just right, beautifully accentuating the leg proportions. I paired it with white over-the-knee socks decorated with yellow stripes at the top, which just happens to echo the white leather belt at the waist and the primary color palette of white, pink, and blue. The light blue thigh ring on the thigh is also a crowning touch, which, along with that draped string, significantly boosts the recognition of the overall character. This is a neat piece of Anime-style fashion.
However, what makes me want to complain or continue to manually modify the most is the issue with the wings. I originally thought there would be a slightly more three-dimensional wing or decoration, but the actual item is indeed just flat and exceptionally small in size. Especially after I put it on, looking from the front, those little wings are almost completely blocked by the shoulders and arms, completely invisible from the front. This design's visual effect in actual wearing is indeed greatly compromised.
Although the overall replication accuracy is limited by cost, and the details certainly can't withstand close amplification, I initially bought it with the mindset of a cosplay fitting and early preparation anyway, so I didn't expect to wear it directly to a convention without any modifications. My own plan is to wait until logistics become more convenient in a while and directly pick out two slightly larger, three-dimensional finished wings online to buy back, then punch holes or sew them onto the shoulder straps for a DIY modification. This process of manually fine-tuning by myself is actually a highly interesting and achievement-filled part of playing cosplay.
In addition, this outfit features a detached sleeve design, plus the leather belt buckle on the forearm, which doesn't really affect hand-raising movements, making it quite suitable for a cosplayer like me who has relatively more daily activities and frequently needs to hold things or pose. Ordering it in a rush was actually a spur-of-the-moment decision; after all, the collaboration's popularity was right there. Being able to gather a full-body costume with relatively complete accessories for just over two hundred yuan, and then spending a few dozen yuan to DIY and strengthen it yourself, the final resulting effect should reach a nice balance.
Regardless, trying it on shows that this Chinatsu Remiel look is still highly recognizable. The color tone of white, pink, and light blue is extremely suitable for daily photoshoots and convention outdoor shoots, and it should look even more refreshing under the sun. Once the wings are modified, I'll come back to shoot some official photos.
