[Sweety cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Festive Red Atmosphere for the New Year

This New Year version of the Zenless Zone Zero Sweety cosplay is finally here! The overall shoot concept blends the joyous holiday atmosphere of Spring Festival with the character's distinct personality.

Quite a few props were prepared for this shoot. The most eye-catching is the red scroll with gold trim reading "Happy New Year," serving as the visual anchor that sets the tone for the entire set. Behind me, a wooden Chinese arm-chair, a round screen with floral and bird motifs, warm yellow paper lanterns, a blue-and-white porcelain vase with dried reeds on the left, and a striking oversized red flower on the right come together to build a scene full of traditional festive flavor with a touch of fantasy.

To align with Sweety's design, I selected this black and red modified Chinese style qipao. The fabric quality is excellent, featuring intricate frog buttons at the collar and small bells on the chest that chime softly when moving or adjusting poses. The long belt sash with golden patterns at the waist is a great touch, draping naturally over the wooden chair to break up the solid black. Its short hem paired with a barefoot look highlights smooth body lines. The wig is blonde and short with twin buns on the sides, topped with her signature yellow-tinted sunglasses to capture the character's quirky, cool swagger.

We switched between two main angles during the shoot. The first photo serves as the cover: I sit on the arm-chair with my right leg extended forward and left leg tucked on the seat edge, lifting my arm to hold the scroll. This pose displays fluent lower-body lines while keeping my posture open and natural. Centered in framing, warm lantern light hits my face and wig from behind, rendering skin tones softly. The second photo moves into a tighter shot, where I curl up on the chair holding the scroll horizontally across my chest. Focusing more on upper-body details, light and shade carve crisp contours on my cheek as I look straight into the camera with a relaxed, casual charm.

For prop placement, the photographer intentionally placed the massive red flower in the right foreground to enrich color composition and introduce spatial depth, adding three-dimensional layers to the flat photo. The lighting utilized dual color temperatures—a warm key light and a slightly cooler rim light—enhancing the holiday warmth against Chinese style furniture and paper lanterns.

Since Zenless Zone Zero inherently carries a strong, trendy street style, we didn't strictly pursue pure traditional aesthetics for this Spring Festival theme. Instead, we preserved modern flair and character playfulness through elements like the sunglasses and lively, casual sitting poses. Through this cosplay interpretation of Sweety, I hoped to convey a festive state rich with personal charm, bringing everyone fresh visual joy for the New Year. This everyday setting brings more life and warmth than a studio shoot, making it easier to step into the character's world.
