Shooting these convention photos of Xiao Qiao Green Snake was at a recent anime convention scene. Taking advantage of the fact that the light and shadow atmosphere of the venue was quite fitting, I pressed the shutter a few more times.
This time, the primary color scheme of this Green Snake skin outfit selected peacock blue and cyan, which is very cool and eye-catching visually. The upper body features a halter-neck design, with a hollowed-out metallic line structure on the chest, paired with the golden decorations at the waist and that round, smooth white jade bead; the overall sense of traditional Chinese style instantly elevates. The sleeves are a patchwork of white sheer, paired with golden arm rings, perfectly fitting the character's aura of being soft yet carrying a touch of playfulness. The white flower headwear is actually a combined hair accessory, with details dotted with several smaller flowers, and the hair on both sides of the temples is also braided. Combined with the bangs, it makes the face look very small.
The makeup actually took quite a while to adjust. I pay more attention to the presentation of eye makeup; the red-series eyeshadow deepens the depth of the eye makeup, and together with the red contact lenses, the gaze looks more agile and spirited. Because the overall costume color leans toward a cool tone, I chose a warm-toned bean paste red for the lip color to neutralize the aloofness of the cool-toned clothing, making the overall makeup and styling more harmonious and natural.
This large round fan in my hand is the soul of the entire look. It has a wooden handle, and the fan surface is cyan-green, printed with landscape and pine tree patterns, with the edges further embellished with a few 3D yellow and white fake flowers. Holding this fan in hand can both block the light and beautifully assist the composition. Utilizing the fan for various blocking or extending actions during photoshoots makes the frame much more dynamic.
The pictures share three different angles of sitting and standing poses. Figure four is sitting on a high stool; this pose can fully display the leg lines and high heels. This pair of shoes was also customized after searching for a long time; the cyan-green primary color pairs with golden shoe buckle bowknots, plus ankle straps, perfectly echoing the strap details on the clothing. The exposed white silk stockings can also brighten the visual focus of the lower body in the frame.
The convention scene was crowded, so it was quite hard to avoid passersby. Fortunately, the light on-site was relatively soft, and the photographer slightly darkened the background, keeping the visual focus strictly concentrated on the person. When shooting this kind of clothing with a large amount of sheer fabric material, one needs to constantly adjust movements to let the sheer dress have a floating texture, and I myself also felt a lightweight visual effect.
There is still plenty of room for play in the details of this outfit, such as the angle of wearing the accessories, the pleat processing of the skirt hem, etc. Every time I do casual cosplay, it's a test of my eyesight and hands-on ability. This shoot also accumulated a lot of experience, hoping for a better performance next time.
