Deciding to shoot this blue-toned piece didn't take much hesitation—a light blue wig and sparkling wings always command attention at conventions. To give these Convention photos an authentic feel, I made thorough preparations in advance. Outfit-wise, the inner white short-sleeved top features a clean, simple collar, while the outer blue dress utilizes a semi-transparent, glossy fabric. The most painstaking effort actually went into the wings on my back. To pursue that crystal-clear visual effect, I custom-ordered acrylic wings with glitter flakes. In person, under both studio lights and indoor convention lighting, the reflected blue shine looked gorgeous; they swayed naturally with every step, feeling lightweight while protecting the prop from snapping easily.
The convention atmosphere on the day was vibrant and bustling with crowds. The blue-and-white color scheme enjoys high recognition, which, paired with the red ribbon bow and snowflake pin on the chest, gave the overall look a fresh yet distinctive feel. Throughout the shoot, I stayed in a relaxed state and tried several different poses—such as standing with hands raised overhead forming a heart, or like in the photo, simply finding a clean corner to sit directly on a fluffy white mat, relieving my tired feet. The shots captured this way turned out to have a more candid, lived-in feel rather than appearing overly staged or rigid.
Regarding this photoshoot, I sincerely want to thank photographer \"WiFi\" for the incredible support. Finding a clean spot with soft lighting amidst a crowded hall full of photography enthusiasts and flashbulbs was no easy task. I particularly adore this candid shot sitting on the fluffy mat; the photographer brilliantly captured the natural flare of the flowing skirt, along with the details of black leather shoes paired with white lace-trimmed socks. That playful yet refreshing vibe echoed perfectly with the blue-haired, blue-eyed character features of this Touhou Project cosplay. At convention halls, meeting fellow fans, trading merch, and sharing shoot insights creates a truly healing atmosphere.
Returning to the hair and makeup styling itself, to complement this cool-toned ice crystal theme, I used a subtle light blue gradient for eye makeup without applying heavy eyeshadow, focusing instead on grooming the wig and bangs to present a lighter, fluffier texture. Beyond wings, I prepared blue-themed props—such as the small item held in the photo; though compact, it provided a natural resting point for my hands during posing, avoiding awkward hands-in-air moments during Anime-style photography.
Overall, this convention cosplay experience was immensely fulfilling. Although walking around the exhibition hall all day was undeniably tiring and a plush mat couldn't replace proper rest, seeing the cool, vibrant, icy energy delivered in these final images made every bit of effort worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself fully into character—from styling design to facial expression management, every step aimed to match the image in my mind. I hope to bring this Cirno cosplay outfit to different scenes and sets in the future. As an offline record, these photos carrying real ambient lighting and crowd traces possess a vibrant, unrepeatable vitality that pure studio photography cannot replicate.
