Today let's talk about the shooting of this Kasugano Sora modern cheongsam convention photos. The shooting location was chosen as an outdoor scene featuring metal railings and crosswalks. The natural lighting on that day was slightly cool, which perfectly matched the blue-and-white porcelain-like tones of this outfit.

In terms of clothing, this sleeveless cheongsam adopts classic blue-and-white patterns on a white background. The mandarin collar and knot buttons retain a traditional flavor, but a teardrop-shaped cutout is made on the chest, and the skirt hem is changed to an asymmetrical cut with side slits, enhancing the overall sense of lightness. The custom pink sequin name tag at the waist has a certain reflective effect under the light. To match this outfit, the wig chose long white twintails with blunt bangs. Managing such long twintails requires some skill; the hair ends easily get tangled due to static electricity and friction, so I used wig care spray before setting out, and clipped several extra bobby pins inside the bow hair accessories on both sides of the top of the head to prevent them from slipping during the shoot. The blue-and-white bows on both sides of the top of the head are also highlights of the styling; to make them three-dimensional and not collapse, iron wire support was used inside.

Paired with white over-the-knee stockings and black ultra-high-heeled platform leather shoes on the legs, this combination can visually elongate the leg lines very well, and the contrast between the white stockings and the black glossy shoes is also a classic 2D pairing. When performing a single-knee kneeling or squatting pose on the crosswalk, it's actually very difficult to maintain balance in high heels; the center of gravity must lean forward while using core strength to stabilize the body. Every time after completing a kneeling action, sock indentation marks are left on the legs, which is the price that must be paid for good photos.

In terms of makeup, to make the eyes look deeper in a 2D style, the eyeshadow adopted a reddish-brown gradient, the eyeliner was deepened, and thick false eyelashes were worn. Because the weather during the convention was relatively muggy, the base makeup and setting spray were used generously. Even when facing the outdoor wind, one must always pay attention to touch-ups, especially in areas prone to oiliness like the sides of the nose and the forehead.

Regarding props, a grayish-blue plush rabbit was brought along the whole time, with a white ribbon tied around its neck. Holding the rabbit makes the poses more natural, especially when holding the plushie with one hand in a standing pose, which can use the power of the prop to let the shoulders drop so the photos don't look stiff. The posture of holding the rabbit's ear with one hand is actually to showcase the silhouette and draping feel of the back of the clothing.

This photoshoot tried both standing and kneeling poses. In the standing pose, one hand makes a gesture resting against the chin or pointing to the head while the other hand holds the rabbit, which flatters the figure quite well. The kneeling pose is mainly to showcase the leg lines and the cheongsam's skirt design. When shooting in outdoor public areas, besides paying attention to road safety, one must also constantly monitor the smoothness of the clothes, especially close-fitting garments like cheongsams which easily produce wrinkles due to excessive movement, requiring readjustment before each shooting session.

Overall, this clothing combining classical elements and modern tailoring has a great sense of contrast in the outdoor street scene. During the shoot, the photographer used the lines of the railings for many diagonal compositions, giving the subject a greater sense of extension in the frame, and the horizontal lines of the crosswalk intersect with the standing posture, making the image layers relatively rich.
