[Denia Cosplay] Reflections on Wuthering Waves Convention Photos

I cosplayed Denia from Wuthering Waves at this convention, and the convention photos are finally all sorted out. The layering of this costume is quite complex—especially the rigidity of the skirt and the ribbon fabric, which took considerable time to adjust in terms of waistline and petticoat placement. To recreate the character's proportions, I paired the outfit with black cross-strap platform high heels. These shoes truly tested my ankle stability given the prolonged standing required to coordinate with the photographer. The wig was another focal point; working through the pink-and-blue gradient layers took careful effort, and the long wavy curls added a lovely sense of dynamic fluidity. The lighting at the venue was quite intricate, filled with overhead ceiling lights. During the shoot, we took advantage of the venue's reflective flooring while finding clean angles away from the crowd. Posing-wise, standing straight best highlighted the symmetry of the costume while slightly crossing my legs elongated the silhouette. Sitting on a stool allowed a clearer display of the skirt hem and footwear details while giving tired legs a rest from a full day on my feet. For the jump shot, the photographer used a low-angle perspective, capturing the dynamic beauty of the billowing skirt. The wide sleeves looked stunning whenever a breeze passed through. For the makeup, I selected bright blue contact lenses paired with soft eyeshadow, keeping the eyeliner sharp to suit the character's demeanor. With heavy convention traffic, we spent time scoping out moments free of passersby for clean shots. The red gloves and black choker elevated the overall refinement, and the white outer layers caught the light wonderfully. During post-processing, the contrast was bumped up to emulate a stage spotlight effect, giving the figure greater three-dimensional depth. The motion of the ribbons was composited in post to make the wind-blown effect appear more organic. Throughout the shoot, it was crucial to control the skirt flare and maintain center of balance in the heels. This set of convention photos was a truly unique experience, successfully bringing all the fine garment details to life.
