Yesterday, right during the blue hour, I rushed out with master Guhui to the beach for this shoot, compressing the entire process into a mere twenty minutes. The light was changing too fast; the warm string lights of the carousel had just lit up, and a touch of deep twilight blue still lingered in the sky. We pressed the shutter just in time within this atmosphere interwoven with cold and warm tones. This Halloween outfit theme holds a lot of texture under the night light and shadow, featuring a black pointed witch hat plus an orange-and-black midriff-baring top, carrying a slightly rebellious, playful vibe.

The purple scalloped shorts paired with matching short boots complement the overall look beautifully. Especially the asymmetrical orange, black, and purple striped stockings and the yellow zigzag details at the boot collars make the leg lines look exceptionally sharp under the illumination. The prop is a long-handled weapon combining a broom with a blue crystal spearhead; holding it in hand maintains the character's witch persona while injecting a sense of fantastical sharpness, allowing for varied actions with just slight angle adjustments. Standing on the sandy ground by the beach with a chilly sea breeze blowing, the carousel lights cast a soft, warm orange glow on my skin, establishing a highly intense visual contrast with the calm blue night sky behind me.

Due to the tight schedule, every movement had to capture the best point of exertion and facial expression. Those few shots holding the lantern were actually acting as fill-light; the glow filtering through the glass dome added highly soft dimensions to my face. When preparing this costume, I paid special attention to the stitching details on the clothes and the metal chain pendants, which presented excellent material texture under the side-backlighting. The Halloween 'trick or treat' theme perfectly accommodates this playful and tsundere expression. During the shoot, I didn't deliberately strike exaggerated poses, focusing more instead on restoring the casual temperament of the character.

Being able to produce photos so quickly this time is entirely thanks to master Guhui's high-efficiency candid capturing and lighting orchestration. Though it was only a brief twenty minutes, it not only captured the structural exterior of the carousel but also seized the prop details and the overall ambiance, even perfectly catching the angle of the boots sinking into the sand. Right after finishing this set, the sky darkened completely, making it the perfect time to wrap up. A pre-Halloween night combined with a seaside carousel makes for excellent elements for a Night portrait in itself. The black-and-orange color palette of the apparel integrated remarkably well into these ambient lights, with color saturation and texture far exceeding my expectations.
