[Ganyu Cosplay] May Your Journey Be as Whole and Perfect as Tonight's Moonlight

The theme of this shoot is a fan-made wedding dress style for Ganyu. Rather than replicating the Qilin suit from the game, I wanted to present a soft and dreamy atmosphere. The main blue and white tone paired with a large amount of flowers and sheer gauze fits Ganyu's temperament perfectly. I spent a long time picking out the wig and chose a misty ice-blue shade with large curls at the ends, so that it creates a translucent, layered look under the sunlight. For the makeup, I deliberately softened the eyeliner and blended shades of pink and light purple around the eyes. Paired with red colored contacts, it makes her gaze look both gentle and imbued with the nimbleness of an adeptus beast. The golden bell around the neck is an iconic element of the character; I turned it into a necklace style, which looks a bit more casual when paired with the lace sheer top.

The beauty of a studio shoot is that the lighting can be completely controlled as expected. This time, a massive amount of soft light was used, combined with the white gauze and blue-and-white floral designs in the background. The overall brightness was bumped up to create a cool, serene luster resembling being "under the moonlight." There were actually quite a few minor episodes during the shoot; for example, the ruffles of the skirt hem easily got caught on the flowers, so I had to be extremely careful whenever I adjusted my posture. The pearl beads on the veil also carried some weight, so I tried to keep my movements minimal to maintain a quiet, peaceful frame. The photographer is great at catching candid dynamic moments. For instance, the second photo captures the exact second I slightly turned my head to adjust the gauze drapes—that casual, effortless feel was exactly what I wanted. This outfit is packed with details: the 3D tailoring on the chest, the gradient dyeing of the skirt hem, and the handmade flowers on the hair accessories—every single part was repeatedly adjusted. As someone who has been doing cosplay photography for a long time, I think that while accuracy is undoubtedly important, placing the character in a well-thought-out creative scene to convey her specific emotions is the true meaning of fan photography. Ganyu always silently guards Liyue in Genshin Impact, and I hope to use this set of photos to capture that quiet yet unwavering strength.
