Starting from crawling out of bed at 6:00 AM for makeup, sculpting and setting the wig, adjusting the red-and-white striped necktie, strapping into the charcoal-grey vest, and mounting the pointed horn headpieces alongside piercing crimson lenses, every minute detail demanded focused craftsmanship. The convention hall's shifting ambient lighting and indoor heat posed a real endurance test, but the overall presentation held up remarkably well.
Navigating the massive crowds, I had to scout clean pockets for my own convention shots while raising my lens to shoot for fellow cosplayers. Standing behind the camera required constant awareness of the mixed lighting ratios between venue downlights and filtered daylight. Convention floors are chaotic: coaching model poses, identifying clean framing angles, directing gazes, and continuously recalibrating exposure settings on the fly.
