[Furina cosplay] Genshin Impact Custom Design: Gallant Blue-and-White Poise at Firefly ACG Expo

Today's convention return photos from Firefly ACG Expo are finally sorted! What I brought to everyone this time is a Custom design cosplay version of Furina from Genshin Impact. Departing from her canonical regalia, this blue-and-white ensemble incorporates a lighter, more combat-ready aesthetic. Preparing this outfit took roughly over a month leading up to the convention.

In terms of fabric, the main body of the top was crafted from satin with subtle micro-shimmer, incorporating delicate lace and harness lace-up elements—preserving the Hydro Archon's aristocratic majesty while allowing effortless mobility across the crowded venue floor. The skirt features a multi-tiered spliced construction, where the blue-and-white gradient pleats needed careful smoothing each time I put it on. The most labor-intensive part was actually the leg styling: for this custom concept, I styled large geometric openwork patterned white tights with a silver crucifix thigh garter, giving the entire look rich dimensional depth. The platform lace-up combat boots visually elongated my leg lines wonderfully, though the material was rather rigid, leaving my feet quite sore after walking around the expo hall all day.

The wig featured a soft pastel-blue gradient. To construct voluminous yet distinct braided plaits, I crimped the roots for lift and accented the hair with blue butterflies and a delicate coronet crown. For makeup, I specifically wore red-pink colored contacts to closely reflect her vibrant character charm. The sword in hand was hand-built from scratch: a sturdy PVC sheet core wrapped in sleek silver vinyl sheets. It held balanced heft in hand, yet single-handed slashes still carried substantial presence; I rehearsed the swings multiple times to ensure fluid lines during shooting. I also took three matching mini cotton plush dolls out to the convention, placing them at my feet and cradling them in my arms as adorable props, which drew the lenses of many photographers.

The initial spark for this custom look actually came from several fantasy illustrations I came across. Her canonical costume leans toward an opulent tailcoat gown, but I personally adore a touch of chivalric knight aesthetic, which inspired extra effort on the detached sleeves, corset cincher, and boots. The white lace sleeves snag quite easily on rough textures, so I consciously steered clear of chain-link fences and raw stone walls at the venue. For the wig, poorly blended blue gradient tiers can easily look unpolished, so I commissioned a specialized wig stylist to handle the precision cutting and structural setting. I did the makeup myself, focusing on seamless eye-shadow blending and fine rhinestones along the outer eye corners to ensure translucent clarity under outdoor daylight.

The atmosphere at Firefly ACG Expo was as lively and electrifying as ever. Outdoor sunlight was gorgeous outside the halls, though finding this background while dodging swarms of attendees took considerable effort. Navigating uneven cobblestone pavements in hefty platform boots meant walking with extreme care. Many fellow fans kindly approached for photos, and everyone was incredibly sweet. The photographers on site were exceptionally patient, providing posing direction such as resting one hand on the sword hilt or gazing into the lens while hugging the plush dolls. I kept those three mini plushies close by; they wore miniature tailor-made outfits matching mine, looking utterly adorable in the frame. These photos were taken between 3 and 4 PM when the sunlight softened, and the dappled tree shadows falling across the white fabric looked genuinely gorgeous. Throughout the shoot, I consciously stretched my limbs to showcase the geometric openwork pattern of the stockings, which served as a major visual highlight of this custom look. The entire session felt like a collaborative artistic journey with the photographers, bouncing ideas and exploring dynamic angles together. Standing for hours in stiff platform boots was exhausting, but seeing the final deliverables made every ounce of effort completely worthwhile. This custom interpretation reflects my personal devotion to Furina, and I hope everyone loves it.
