[Robin Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail's Halloween Experience

This teaser photo is a small trial shot with my photographer brother on Halloween. The background features a warm yellow wooden fence wrapped with white hemp rope, accented by a few warm-toned light bulbs overhead, creating a rich atmosphere. For this look, I chose short pale lavender-blue hair paired with green contact lenses, complemented by a small golden halo, white floral ornaments, a prominent golden star metal buckle at the collar, and tiny wing decorations on both shoulders, making the overall aesthetic light and ethereal.

To fit the Halloween cosplay theme, a black plush spider prop was deliberately placed in the right foreground. Paired with blurred spider webs and speckled light/shadow in the background, it subtly pulled the originally dreamy style toward a mysterious, festive tone. The lighting this time was shot very softly without harsh light-and-dark contrast, preserving skin texture and makeup details beautifully in this Cosplay photography shoot.

I especially want to mention the golden halo atop my head—though it looks lightweight, fixing its angle properly took quite a lot of effort. The wig color is very skin-brightening, which, paired with the eyeshadow and lip shade, gives a lovely healthy complexion. I particularly adore the tiny glitters on the lower eyelids; under the lights, they reflect subtle sparkles that make my gaze look far more narrative-driven.

This photoshoot was a deeply enjoyable creative experience. Rather than intentionally posturing or chasing overly elaborate poses, it was more about interacting and getting candid snapshots with the photographer in a relaxed state. My brother truly understands candid shooting angles and knows which camera placement highlights the character's innate aura. What I'm posting today is a teaser picture, with many more shots from different scenes currently being organized to share gradually.

Honestly, for every Roleplay attempt, I do plenty of homework beforehand. Although it might look like a simple styling, everything from wig trimming to costume adjustments and makeup color palettes requires repeated experimentation to find the optimal balance point. Combining the character with Halloween elements was a fascinating attempt this time, hoping to keep the character's original traits while adding a touch of festive ingenuity.

Before preparing for this shoot, I actually had many ideas about how to recreate the character within a Halloween vibe. Ultimately, I decided on this scene with warm lighting and wooden structures because it fits the cozy festive feel of Halloween without disrupting the dreamlike atmosphere of the character design. The gaffer adjusted the light angles delicately, completely avoiding color interference on the wig and outfit, yielding a low-saturation film-like texture for the frame.

In terms of makeup, the green contact lenses were the soul of this styling, instantly connecting me with the character. To complement the wig's light shade, I intentionally used naturally toned pink-orange lip gloss and eyeshadow so that even under warm yellow light, the makeup wouldn't look yellowish or washed out gray. Those eye glitters under the eyelids, though small in area, created precise eye catches under the lighting, serving as one of the key factors that gave the photo its captivating spirit.

On costume details, I particularly love the golden star pendant at the collar and the dark blue necktie; they formed a color-contrast with the yellow jacket that, despite being softened by warm lighting, maintained ample visual depth. The light purple small wings on both shoulders added playfulness while enriching the character's silhouette to be more three-dimensional. Considering Halloween, I paired a pinkish inner shirt under the jacket so that when the jacket is open, inner and outer colors echo harmoniously.

Releasing a teaser photo usually means richer content lies ahead. Aside from close-up half-body shots, we also took full-body compositions and dynamic candid shots. I actually loved the little tips the photographer gave me during shooting—such as where to look relative to the lens to appear more innocent, or how to position my shoulders so the wig drapes naturally. Passing down these professional details made my expression in front of the camera feel much more effortless.

So, behind every seemingly simple photo, there is much preparation work unbeknownst to outsiders. Whether it's the glowing light bulb props, the fence wrapped in hemp rope, or the Halloween spiders and feather props scattered throughout, all were the result of collaborative team adjustments. This was both a practice in character interpretation and an exploration of photographic composition, which I feel is the true joy of cosplay. I hope this teaser photo allows everyone to feel the Halloween aura and unique character charm I wished to convey, and I look forward to bringing more surprises when the full official photoshoot is released!
