I finally found the time to properly sort through my convention photos from the Guangzhou CICF Anime Exhibition. Let's start with what everyone is most curious about: the first photo is straight-out-of-camera without edits, while the subsequent ones show the visual effects applied by swiping left in the phone's creative camera mode. Truthfully, I was already thoroughly pleased with the straight-out-of-camera lighting and texture, but since I had brought a new device along, I decided to play around with the built-in filters and effects. Testing them turned out to be super fun—especially the falling snow and smoke effects, which are remarkably well-suited for fast, high-quality convention turnaround.

Originally, this Cyberpunk maid cosplay was conceived to incorporate mechanical elements: the massive mechanical horns on my head paired with the glowing Lightsaber props in hand actually carried noticeable weight. To complete the look, I wore red contact lenses and a long straight black wig with subtle highlights. The attire made generous use of black-and-white color-blocking, ruffles, and leather harness straps, paired with White stockings on the lower half to strike an intentional balance between maid sweetness and cyberpunk grit. The strapped fingerless gloves and tactical utility pouches along the waist were packed with fine nuances, resulting in a cohesive overall presence.

Lighting inside the convention hall was intricate and crowds were dense, making fast shooting a true test of a device's dynamic range. Shooting on the vivo X300 Ultra this time was a massive help—its color science and autofocus tracking snapped crisp candid moments straight out of the bustling crowd. Despite wielding a heavy, bulky lightsaber, I kept my postures as steady as possible, collaborating with on-site smoke machines and utilizing the phone's built-in 50mm focal length to capture both detailed close-ups and atmospheric full-body environmental frames.

Convention hall lighting in Guangzhou can lean somewhat flat, and I was initially worried the shots would lack depth. However, spending effort tweaking parameters paid off: using wide apertures to cream out the background and layering in the falling snow visual effect instantly conjured a post-apocalyptic wasteland or futuristic sci-fi ambiance. Wielding the lightsaber amidst the snowy visual effect drew a crowd of photographers snapping away, making it an unforgettable experience. Convention photos often struggle to reach perfection due to tight schedules, but mastering the gear in your hands combined with thoughtful creativity enables fast, high-caliber results.

I was already head-over-heels for this cyberpunk maid coordinate when doing test fittings at home—the rich texture of the leather straps, metallic buckles, and the lightsaber's vibrant neon glow popped brilliantly in dim lighting. Bringing it to the convention hall gave me a full dose of cyberpunk immersion. I will definitely keep experimenting with dynamic stylings and bold props moving forward, aiming to deliver fresh visual spectacles next time.
