This Cifera photo set is finally meeting everyone, and the person appearing on camera is me, Yuansi. From preparation to the completion of the shoot, the whole process can be said to be both hard work and full of surprises.
In terms of preliminary preparation, I did a lot of homework on this outfit. The hood on the head is a key focus: the cat ears plus golden metal pieces, along with that decoration featuring an eye pattern, are prone to reflecting light during night photography, so we adjusted the lighting several times. The wig is silver-gray with blunt bangs; to match movements without looking stiff, I put some thought into handling the sideburns. In terms of makeup, to match the blue of the contact lenses, the eye makeup deepened the contours, and the lips used a pinkish tone, hoping to better fit the overall temperament.
The shooting location was chosen near a steel frame bridge in a city. The nighttime urban background comes with a strong industrial feel by default, and the warm yellow lights in the distance nicely set off the texture of the black leather jacket. The material of this outfit is very special: the upper body features black leather paired with a white shirt, with a pendant bearing a blue eye pattern on the chest, and blue-and-gold circular armor on the shoulders. The lower hem consists of white shorts, with black leather buckles tied around the thighs, connecting to blue-and-gold color-blocked boots. The starry sky texture on these boots is gorgeous, but both wearing and moving in them require care because the leather and metal pieces are relatively tight, making large movements prone to deformation.
During the photo-taking process, to embody the agility and slight slyness of the good cat in the title, I designed different poses. For example, opening one hand to say hello, or pointing diagonally upward while placing the other hand on my hip. Leaning the body slightly forward can make the layering of the costume more obvious while also nicely showcasing the overall body proportions. For the shot leaning against the railing, placing the weight on one side and looking at the lens with the eyes brought the atmospheric vibe right out. The photographer captured candids very accurately, and with the night scenery light hitting the leather jacket, the texture popped out instantly.
Night photography actually tests physical stamina quite a bit; to ensure sufficient lighting, we tried many angles. Even though it was night, wearing this leather jacket and long boots, moving even slightly would still make me sweat, requiring constant stops to touch up my makeup. However, seeing the results of the finished photos, I felt all these efforts were well worth it. This styling, combining combat elements with a slightly everyday style, actually requires careful attention to body stretching, needing to look cool without appearing rigid.
During shoot breaks, I also repeatedly reviewed the screen, adjusting my body angles, hoping to present the details of the clothing and the character's state in the best possible way. Overall, the composition of this photo set is very clean, and the background blur highlights the subject just right. This style of late-night city streets paired with metal-textured clothing has a strong visual impact. Because the clothes are form-fitting and movement ranges are limited, we tried many things regarding pose tension. Messing up the wig bangs a bit or adding a bit more interactive feeling to the gaze can both bring the character to life. I hope everyone who sees the photos can feel the texture of this clothing and the attentive atmosphere during the shoot. From lighting to post-production layout, this photo set tried its best to maintain the authenticity of the night scene. Due to the strong reflectivity of the leather jacket material, we exercised restraint in post-production retouching, trying our best to preserve skin texture and material glossiness. That concludes this share, and I look forward to bringing you new works next time.
