[Kafka cosplay] Tianfu Red street shoot of the Star Rail Hunter

Walking through Tianfu Red Mall in Chengdu, on this day I just wanted to cosplay Kafka. This time I wore the full Cosplay outfit, carefully styling everything from the wig down to the shoes and boots. The black-and-white inner shirt paired with intricate black grid mesh patterns is a highly iconic design element of the character.

The outer black leather jacket features pink trim along its edges, where subtle butterfly patterns add a touch of softness to the tough overall look. A black choker around the neck holds a fine red string, making the visual layers over the chest look rich without feeling monotonous due to the black-and-white color scheme.

I think the lower-body styling was one of the highlights of this look. The black shorts are embellished with several gold diamond-shaped decorative pieces, while pink straps hanging on both sides bridge the upper and lower body nicely. Wine-red tights paired with black thigh rings and over-the-knee boots keep the character's inherent sense of mystery while delivering a striking visual effect through contrasts in texture and color.

Since I wanted to embody this character, the red hair styling was the soul of the whole look. The hair color has high saturation without looking jarring. Perched on top of my head were black round-framed sunglasses, which were not only convenient for shading but also formed a harmoniously coordinated match with the overall outfit. For makeup, I chose red contact lenses to align with the character's original design, accented with matching eyeshadow to look spirited with a sharp edge fitting for a hunter.

The light gray prop in my hand also accompanied this Tianfu Red check-in outing. Although it was my first time handling it, its substantial weight in hand actually helped me pose more calmly. This time, I specifically chose this full-body mirror photo as the highlight of the display because it shows the proportions and layers of the entire outfit most clearly. When out and about, a perspective that intuitively displays the garment's fit and body lines is often needed, and this photo fulfills that requirement perfectly.

Doing Kafka cosplay at Tianfu Red was a logical choice as well, as many ACG culture enthusiasts gather here regularly to stroll through the mall, grab food, and take pictures in a very relaxed atmosphere. Wearing the outfit of a character you love in such an environment, you'll find the looks around you are very friendly, and you'll occasionally run into fellow fans asking questions or taking photos together—a unique joy outside of anime conventions.

Regarding convention photos return shoots, I hold fairly rigorous standards for myself. The placement of every accessory and every fold in the clothing needs to be restored as accurately as possible. Details determine the success or failure of a cosplay's overall visual outcome—for example, smoothing out black shoulder straps and ensuring thigh rings don't slide down often require multiple adjustments during self-portraits to find the best angle. For the second photo, I specifically found a standing pose where the body closes in naturally, making the body curves and outfit contours look smooth and flowing.

Actually, I had wanted to try this character for a long time; her sense of sophistication and composure represents her unique aura. When recreating her look, I wanted to showcase her confident side rather than merely replicating the clothing. Being able to go out and record the complete ensemble leaves me deeply satisfied. Under real-world light and shadow, the overall styling feels rich in texture, capturing a distinct vibe across every scene from the subway station to the shopping mall.

Chengdu's recent weather is also suitable for this kind of outdoor attire; indoor temperatures are just right for wearing leather jackets and knee-high boots. Walking through the corridors of Tianfu Red after getting changed provides an immersive experience, as if stepping out from the game scenes straight into reality. For an enthusiast, this is a truly precious slice of daily life.
