[Columbina Cosplay & Sandrone Cosplay] Attending the Genshin Impact Tea Party Uninvited

This outdoor tea party with Columbina and Sandrone was a very special photoshoot experience. The outdoor venue was set up in a glass greenhouse combined with a pavilion. Scenes like this with white gauze pillars and round tables naturally create a great atmosphere with just a casual shot. The theme this time was 'Damselette and Marionette,' so we specifically aligned our makeup and styling to fit an exquisite, doll-like texture.

My costume was primarily pure white and light blue, adorned with intricate metal and sapphire accents at the chest, accompanied by large ribbons and white satin strips. The wig featured a black base with magenta gradients on both sides, paired with a white winged headpiece. Although there were many elements, it actually made it easier to highlight the visual center during the shoot. Sandrone's outfit featured an off-the-shoulder design in black, red, and white, with the large gemstone collar around her neck being the soul of the look. Coupled with her long pale gold hair and white ruffled hair accessory, she truly exuded the delicate feel of a 'marionette.'

The photographer made great use of the ambient light during the shoot. The afternoon sunlight filtered through white drapes and vines, casting soft light over us without requiring complex fill lights. In front of the camera, we recreated the dialogue scene mentioned in the post. To complement the 'Don't poke my face' interaction, we specifically shot several sets of face-poking photos. The gesture of gently touching her cheek with a finger in the photo actually had a small behind-the-scenes story: because it was hard to control the force, we reshot it several times out of fear of ruining her makeup, only to find that a light touch yielded the most natural effect.

In terms of composition, we tried double close-ups and half-body photos. The small white carved round table and tea set served as the visual anchors of the entire image, keeping the green plants and distant blue-purple flower sea in the background from looking cluttered. The biggest challenge during outdoor garden photography was preventing mosquito bites and keeping the makeup clean, as we were sitting outdoors the whole time; however, to restore these two characters, no detail could be neglected.

Besides the face-poking photos, I also really like the shot of the two of us making eye contact at the table. When she sits quietly, that 'doll-like' aura is truly reassuring—no wonder she said it has a 'comforting scent.' The final effect of the entire photo set presents both a quiet, languid afternoon atmosphere and the exquisite sense unique to Genshin Impact's Damselette and Marionette. Outdoor shooting involves a lot of chance and randomness, but for this tea party theme, both the lighting and character interactions basically achieved our expected goals.

Regarding props, we specifically chose this white European-style small round table paired with carved-pattern tea cups to fit the characters' usual cool yet refined persona without stealing the spotlight from the surroundings. The seating was a pure white metal chair that resonated with the white gauze curtains hanging nearby, keeping the picture clean and uncluttered. Green vines and blurred blue-purple flowers in the distance served as foreground and background bokeh elements, helping enhance the depth of the entire set.

Wigs are easily affected by wind outdoors. There was a gentle breeze during our shoot, so to keep the hair neat, every frame needed to be captured quickly. I put some effort into adjusting those few strands of pink hair ends to make them drape naturally on both sides of my collarbones. The large white bow on Sandrone's head was also carefully fixed so it wouldn't tilt even when moving. Small details like this heavily affect the final result, so we spent a lot of time checking each other before every take.

Wearing these types of costumes requires constant attention to sitting posture. The off-the-shoulder design can easily slip or cause exposure, so shoulders couldn't be too relaxed during shooting, or the posture would lack a erect stance. Fortunately, our state during the shoot was great, and our chemistry was excellent with constant laughter on set—even repeating the 'face-poking' action never felt tedious.

Although this is a Damselette Marionette cosplay theme from Genshin Impact, in this garden setting we didn't intentionally pursue an overly domineering presence, wanting instead to present a casual and relaxed everyday feeling. When she gently stirred her tea with a spoon, that naturally flowing softness, combined with my slightly playful actions in the same frame, felt quite story-rich. This joy came not just from the final output, but even more from the preparation and shooting process itself; every detail adjustment and every search for a better lighting angle made the cosplay far more meaningful.
