Putting on this light purple gauze dress and bringing my handmade little stars and prop lantern, I decided to recreate the Sangonomiya Kokomi from Genshin Impact in my heart by the sea. The fine, realistic texture of the sand on this beach, combined with the deep blue-toned starry sky backdrop, allowed us to strive for even lighting across my body during the session. When the side-backlight filtered through the thin gauze shawl, the subtle sequins on the skirt hem and the satin sheen of the bows were captured with precision, making me feel that the material accuracy of the costume met my expectations.
In fact, when preparing this costume early on, I specifically studied the detailed pairing of accessories against the character's official splash art. For instance, the blue bows on the pink twin tails, the tulle decoration on the neck, the small blue bows on the sides of the white stockings, and even the tiered structure and color gradient of the skirt hem were meticulously matched. Holding this glowing star prop, what I actually wanted to present was a gentle sense of connection between Kokomi, the ocean, and the starry sky. For beach photography, combining natural light and artificial lighting highlights the character's agility beautifully, especially in low-light environments, maximizing the dreamy starry sky atmosphere.
Not only were the star props prepared on set, but the vintage little lantern on the ground unexpectedly became an excellent foreground blur element. During the shoot, I tried some interactive perspectives—whether offering the star or looking down in contemplation, I could find the feeling of conversing with the camera. The photographer's composition and shutter timing also added a lot of value, capturing the natural movement of the skirt hem in the wind. As a meticulously prepared outdoor location shoot, my compatibility with Kokomi was exceptionally high this time for this Anime cosplay piece. I hope everyone enjoys this record of light and shadow left from my quiet night by the sea.
