[Kotori Itsuka cosplay] Let's Start Our Date Before the Pudong Trio Skyline!

Today, I am finally releasing this official photo set of Kotori Itsuka in her JK uniform from Date A Live. For this production, we headed straight into Shanghai Pudong, framing the shoot against the celebrated Pudong Trio skyline. Night portraiture consistently tests camera gear and lighting precision; for this session, we brought the Sony A7M5 body paired with the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II lens. Under nocturnal conditions, the benefits of a wide F2.8 aperture were unmistakable: the skyscraper illumination across the background dissolved into creamy, exquisite bokeh, preserving the metropolis's modern pulse without overpowering the subject.

The styling centered on a classic JK uniform coordinate. Crimson twin-tails tied with white ribbon headpieces popped with unmistakable vibrancy and instant recognition against the nightscape. The wardrobe consisted of a crisp white long-sleeved shirt trimmed with navy-blue piping, paired with a matching navy necktie and pleated skirt to present a tidy, school-ready aesthetic. The lower half paired over-the-knee black Stockings accented with white trim stripes and chunky black platform loafers, visually extending leg lines. To faithfully embody the canon setup, I brought along a navy canvas schoolbag dangling a plushie of the character, while holding lollipops and textbooks as interactive props to infuse spontaneous life into each take.

Throughout the shoot, I choreographed various dynamic poses to channel her personality: energetic single-leg kicks, leaning against bridge handrails with one hand smoothing my hair, or glancing back over the shoulder with a lollipop tucked between my lips. Standing on the pedestrian bridge as evening breezes swept through, urban traffic streaked below while neon-clad skyscrapers towered in the distance. To ensure luminous facial clarity, the photographer continuously finessed speedlight angles, suppressing background exposure just enough to retain the vibrant, tiered colors of the city illumination.

Many pedestrians passed by during the shoot, all sharing warm, encouraging smiles. Running back and forth across the elevated walkway in platform heels was genuinely exhausting, and my heels rubbed quite tenderly, yet the moment the proofs rendered on screen, every ounce of physical fatigue vanished. From initial concept drafts, wardrobe sourcing, and location scouting to on-site fill-flash positioning, framing, and pose directing, every step was calibrated to capture her authentic spirit. Enormous passion went into both shooting and post-processing to balance her trademark tsundere edge with innocent cuteness. I thoroughly adore this visual collision between a futuristic cityscape and an anime character.
