Coordinating this look for March 7th cosplay from Honkai: Star Rail, I arranged this set design with the photography team well in advance. Stepping into the studio filled with blue and white flowers and vintage ornaments, an airy sense of fantasy naturally welled up. The very moment I slipped into the costume, I could feel myself closely enveloped in a lively, innocent aura in this 2D cosplay shoot.
The color scheme of this outfit is remarkably recognizable—grounded in a pure white base fabric paired with generous light blue patchwork, visually conveying a refreshing crispness like melting ice and snow. The collar retains that delicate blue-purple gradient accent, which, combined with the gold buttons embellishing the front placket, gives the overall texture a very sleek finish. Although the voluminous lantern sleeves on both sides vastly enhance visual cuteness, they pose noticeable spatial constraints when raising arms to pose; I had to pay extra attention when adjusting postures so the cuffs wouldn't get bunched into a wrinkled mess.
For the hairstyle, the custom light-pink wig had been trimmed and layered beforehand. The twin tails tied on both sides of the crown were deliberately fixed slightly higher, which not only framed the face beautifully but also aligned flawlessly with the character's playful, spirited nature. Paired with clear blue contact lenses, my gaze instantly turned crystal clear. The makeup artist also layered a touch of subtle shimmery blue eyeshadow at the outer corners of my eyes, creating an ingenious harmony with the character's overall palette.
I put considerable thought into selecting accessories for this session. The black choker around the neck paired with a metallic circular ring injected a distinct cool edge into the predominantly sweet styling. A black leather glove was worn specifically on the right hand, serving as one of the visual focal points during the shoot; when waving toward the lens, the contrast between dark and light tones effectively commanded visual attention. The leg styling combination was equally an orchestrated visual composition—the light-colored stockings carried a soft luster, while the black thigh band crossed with white fabric straps created an artful contrast in this Garter stockings ensemble, making the lower body lines appear even more elongated.
For set design, we stacked abundant blue and white artificial lilies and hydrangeas to craft an intricate floral backdrop. In fact, shooting amidst flowers can easily look cluttered for many people, but the blue-and-white color palette in this zone paired with well-spaced greenery achieved an exquisite balance. The carpet beneath me featured an intricately printed traditional floral motif; this complex patterning formed magnificent visual tension against the clean, pure lines of the costume itself, looking exceptionally photogenic. The white birdcage and vintage Roman numeral table clock placed in the background added layer upon layer of fairytale charm to the frame.
During the shoot, I chose a seated posture with my torso turned slightly toward the back-left, deliberately breaking the rigidity of horizontal compositions. I then extended my gloved right hand, mimicking a casual greeting gesture as if inviting the Trailblazer on the other side of the screen to step into that uncharted journey. Being a studio shoot, soft light cast from the upper side rendered my appearance remarkably translucent and fair.
Throughout the lengthy shooting process, we repeatedly adjusted bangs and tousled hemlines, even sweating under the warm studio lights. Yet whenever I saw myself in the viewfinder aligning so seamlessly with the character, all the exhaustion felt deeply meaningful. Cosplay is a passion that profoundly tests patience and aesthetic sensitivity to detail—from shaping the wig and harmonizing the makeup to every crease in the fabric and coordinating props on set, everything requires meticulous control. I firmly believe that cosplay is not merely replicating a character's exterior, but activating their unique personality and soul before the camera in Honkai: Star Rail.

Removing the heavy makeup and wig after wrapping up certainly left me physically tired, but the pure fulfillment brought by this faithful recreation lingers long after.
