The Convention photos from the July 20 Chongqing Mengxiang anime convention are finally ready. On the day of entry, the rainstorm was so intense that I got soaked through, completely disrupting original plans. Because I arrived in a huge rush and didn't take any client bookings that day, I only shot five people over the entire day; however, the resulting quality of this photo set felt like a complete recharge. Gear-wise, I used a Nikon D850 body paired with Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART and Sigma 35mm f/1.4 ART lenses, and for lighting, I prepared a Godox V850II and a Godox AD200Pro II. The lighting environment at the convention was complex, so using two lights—one for the key subject and one for rim contours—made it much easier to bring out the Dark tactical style texture. The low-angle upward shot in the second picture is my personal favorite; dropping the center of gravity and pulling the legs in elongated the leg lines nicely. Although wearing long pants with knee pads and tactical boots, it didn't look visually bulky, but rather accentuated the character's combat readiness. The dagger in hand featured orange luminous elements, creating a cool-warm contrast against the dark, cool-toned background and making the visual focus unmistakably clear. Posing adjustments took a lot of effort; to capture the most focused gaze, the same motions were repeated over and over, dropping the shoulders and bracing the core to maintain an imposing presence in front of the lens. The photographer used a wide aperture to blur the background venue lights, creating circular bokeh that separated the subject from the cluttered surroundings and enhanced dimensional depth. This Dark tactical style outfit had plenty of details—especially the thick black scarf, which helped define the overall silhouette and paired with leather armor for a rugged texture. Communication with the photographer met at the convention was very smooth with prompt feedback, allowing me to quickly find my best state for Portrait photography. Finally, huge thanks to the kind-hearted friends who cooperated with pose adjustments and waited patiently during the shoot; getting drenched in the rainstorm was certainly an ordeal, but getting this satisfying Convention photo set made all the effort worthwhile.
