This set of Honkai: Star Rail March 7th night scene cosplay photoshoot is a group of works that leaves me highly satisfied recently.

Because I wanted to recreate the character's agile, lively yet slightly valiant feel, I selected the night scene and rain-washed streets as the shooting venue. The site was hung with luminous lanterns, along with the bokeh of various colored light spots as a background. The overall atmosphere was highly dreamlike, yet not overly sweet, matching exactly the character's temperament in my mind.

In terms of costume preparation, the pink long hair paired with white fox ears styling counts as my highly cherished part. The overall design features a red-and-white color-blocked cross-collar outer robe, with clover-shaped metallic decorations at the chest and waist, plus that bright blue lotus waistband, which nicely brightens the colors of the entire body under night lighting. To fit the character's setting, I paired the lower wear with white over-knee stockings and black high-heeled short boots, with black tactical gloves on the hands. This combination both holds the flowing elegance of traditional clothing and preserves the convenience of movement. The props used for shooting were a gorgeous long sword adorned with purple flower patterns and a red oil-paper umbrella.

Photo 4 is the look I personally recommend most as the cover, and it's also my absolute favorite out of the entire photoset. Adopting a full-body low-angle composition, the ground happened to have standing rain water during shooting, and the orange-yellow lights formed beautiful reflections inside the water puddle. I stood with my legs in an A-shape stance, lowering my center of gravity slightly, looking back over my shoulder. This angle beautifully elongated the leg lines, allowing the white stockings and black high-heeled boots combination to be fully displayed, while cooperating with the stretched posture of my hand and the backed sword, presenting a highly confident and aura-filled visual effect overall. The character is symmetrically centered in the frame, with no cluttered elements around to disturb the vision, and the negative space handling feels very comfortable.

The temperature on the shooting day wasn't actually high, and it kept drizzling with pattering rain continuously. The look in Photo 5 holding the red umbrella under the colored balloon light bokeh was actually snap-captured during the gaps in the rain. At that time, both the hair and clothes were dotted with water droplets, but the photographer utilized the floating rain strands and bokeh to construct a hazy and romantic sensation. This is exactly where the charm and challenge of a night portrait lie—needing to both overcome the difficulties brought by weather and lighting, and perfectly control facial expressions and movements.

The entire costume contains quite a lot of details, such as the golden borders at the neckline, the hidden patterns at the cuffs, and the layers of the belt, which placed a requirement on repeatedly adjusting postures across different scenes. When holding the sword, I needed to look sharp and fierce, while when holding the umbrella, it had to be softer. As a Cosplayer, aside from trying my best to stay close to the traits of the anime character in makeup and styling, I also need to endow the character with new vitality through body language. Night shooting also places exceptionally high demands on facial fill light; fortunately, the cooperation with the photography master this time was relatively seamless, fully utilizing the live lantern light sources as key light and backlight to preserve the warm texture of the red-and-pink color palette.

Although braving several rounds of rain and having some water seep into the boots, seeing the final photos made me feel all the hard work was completely worth it. This time, from makeup/styling and props to the scene, everything underwent relatively dedicated early preparation, and the output effect indeed reached the expectations in my heart. This was a highly pleasant shooting experience, and I will continue to express my love for this masterpiece through my works.
