[Chisa cosplay] Afternoon Coffee Time in Wuthering Waves' Classical Mansion

The vintage wooden scenery inside Changsha Miku COS Photography Studio happens to harmonize unexpectedly well with the atmosphere of this Chisa maid outfit. Actually, this set of photos was completed last month, but looking back at these behind-the-scenes clips and final cuts now, I can still recall that lazy afternoon spent fully immersed in the classical mansion for half a day.

We put quite a bit of thought into preparing the costume, makeup, and props this time. Black long straight hair with straight bangs, paired with custom cat ears and a red ribbon headband. The makeup focused heavily on depicting the red eyes and deep eye makeup to give the gaze more agility. The costume is the core of this Maid outfit cosplay; the off-white ruffled neckline matches with brown bubble sleeves, while the red ribbon and golden pendant at the bowtie add luxurious details. A deep brown corset with a red lace-up design was used at the waist, which not only cinched the waistline but also gave the character a more distinct silhouette. I especially adore the tiny brown bear badge on the clothes and the ruffles on the cuffs; these minor nuances showcase the exquisite design.

The props on the day of the shoot were highly abundant, preparing many items aligned with the theme and scene. From the exquisite floral-pattern ceramic coffee cups and saucers to the multi-layered pastry stand packed with cherries, cream cupcakes, and biscuits, each piece looked like it was taken out of a vintage oil painting. We attempted interactions across multiple scenes, such as casually flipping through the sheet music on the piano rack in front of an old piano, pretending to be intoxicated by the world of music; sitting at a long table, cradling a coffee cup while gently sniffing the aroma of coffee beans or picking up a small piece of cake to savor; and holding a heavy hardcover book in front of a bookshelf to strike a scholarly air.

Throughout the entire shoot, the photographer was truly professional in handling light and shadow. The cool, soft top light coupled with the warm-toned ambient light beaming from the side happened to fall precisely across my facial features, making my skin tone look clean and translucent while making that pair of red eyes even more eye-catching. Large expanses of dark solid wood furniture, the vintage piano, a display cabinet with carved details, alongside the warm-toned fireplace and vintage mirror, all presented an incredibly rich classical aristocratic aura with the help of this lighting setup.

The biggest feeling while shooting this entire set of cuts was the combination of "static" and "dynamic." Although most actions were sitting upright or standing, I kept contemplating how to convey the character's emotions. For instance, the slightly downcast eyelashes when holding a tray, or the relaxed and natural posture when leaning slightly forward against a tabletop, were all attempts to break the tediousness of a static state through minor expressions and movements. This whole day was actually quite physically draining because I was wearing a heavy long wig and keeping my posture in a corset, but seeing the final cuts made all the dedication feel entirely worthwhile.

The maid outfit combined with the red-eye cat-ear setting always collides with a unique vibe in such vintage indoor scenes. Bringing a 2D character genuinely into a 3D classical environment is the reason I have always loved shooting a Cosplay photoshoot. Compiling and sharing this set today, I hope everyone can feel this tranquility and coziness as if existing within a castle manor through the lens, completing this beautiful photography studio sharing experience.
