Regarding when that Midsummer Firefly Date in Star Rail will be implemented, the exact timeline still needs to wait for official news, but judging by the current preview rhythm, it should be available very soon. While this enthusiasm is still fresh, I also happened to shoot this Firefly cosplay look. Looking back at the entire process of putting on this outfit, I actually have quite a lot of feelings, so today I will carefully break down my experience with this style's realization.

Let's start with this gray-blue short jacket on the upper body; its design is actually quite special. The surface has a matte, frosted texture, and both sides are designed into a loose cape-like silhouette, giving a casual draped effect when moving. The inner lining of the jacket is spliced with beige fabric, and the contrast between the inner and outer colors is highly eye-catching in the photos. The most prominent feature is the row of golden round metal buttons on the front. The metallic reflection of the buttons perfectly brightens up the overall gray-blue tone, keeping the clothing from looking too dull. The inner layer is a pure white stand-collar shirt with a relatively crisp texture that effectively refines the neckline. Below the collar, a simple draping decoration made of an extremely fine blue-green braided cord is added. Although a very small accessory, it enriches the overall layering quite a bit.

Moving further down is this dark navy midi skirt. The skirt's pattern is an A-line umbrella structure, with the highlight being the wide black leather belt at the waist. The square silver metal buckle not only visually tightens the waistline but also neutralizes the softness of the skirt, adding a touch of toughness. The hem is spliced with two layers of wide and thick white ruffles; it drapes smoothly when standing statically, but with just a bit of walking or a gust of wind, the white lace ripples with the skirt, bringing a strong dynamic visual effect to the photos.

For the shoes and socks combination, I chose thick-soled black Mary Jane buckle shoes. The rounded toe, straps, and platform design give the entire styling a very solid landing feel. For the white socks, I specially selected a style with white fuzzy small flounces at the cuff, which nicely forms a top-to-bottom echo with the white ruffles of the skirt hem, making it look more cohesive. Shooting outdoors over these past few days, the shoes' thick soles felt pretty good stepping on the tiled ground, completely free of any restrictive feeling that stops you from taking steps. It overall retains the exaggerated sense of a 2D look while balancing the comfort of walking back and forth during the shooting process.

The most effort-consuming part was actually the head styling and makeup. The white wig has plenty of volume, the bangs are trimmed very neatly, and the hair strands carry a natural cascading arc. The black hairband on top of the head has a widened edge design, adorned with a black bow on the side. This detail is actually harder to secure than imagined, easily slipping off if one is not careful, so I had to constantly pay attention to adjusting the angle during the shoot. Regarding makeup, I chose a clear and white base, heavily highlighting the pink-purple colored contacts and slightly wide eyeliner. The eye area utilized a pale pink eyeshadow for transition and blending, creating a gaze that carries a touch of innocence yet determination. The lip color maintains a natural reddish texture, and the overall makeup is clean and sharp, matching as closely as possible the character's temperament of appearing weak on the outside but very resilient on the inside.

The shooting environment was chosen under an outdoor glass curtain wall building. Modern architectural backdrops with metal railings and huge grid glass can be seen in the photos, and the cool-toned light reflected on the glass is perfect for this cool-colored outfit. I especially like the blurred identification numbers like "B2" and "2" on the glass curtain wall; they add some down-to-earth and situational reality to the frame. Because it was diffused light from a cloudy day, the light and shadow on the face were exceptionally even and soft, without harsh shadows. Wearing this outfit and standing before the railing, casually walking or quietly standing, allowed me to blend perfectly into this scene. The exact seconds when the wind occasionally blew the skirt hem and hair tips beautifully snapped that natural and relaxed atmospheric vibe. Although this Honkai: Star Rail photoshoot didn't deploy particularly complex lighting equipment, relying on natural light and scene assistance beautifully presented the advantages of this clothing's color and tailoring.
