[Kasugano Sora Cosplay] Yosuga no Sora Seaside Photo Set: Summer Memories of the Black Rabbit and White Dress - Image 2

This set of Kasugano Sora cosplay photos was shot on this coastline where the reefs meet the sea. Both the work's title and the character's name come from Yosuga no Sora mentioned in the post description. The goal this time was to recreate as much as possible the character's quiet, slightly fragile, yet highly pure temperament.

The natural light on the day of the shoot was extremely abundant, and the shimmering reflection on the sea surface became the most dynamic backdrop in the frame. In terms of costume choice, I put on this white lace-patchwork short-sleeved top; the black bowtie embellished at the neckline along with the rhinestone-encrusted ring buckle are the core details of the entire outfit. This classic contrast of black and white fits the character beautifully, while also making the color layers of the frame look clean and sharp. Of course, I absolutely could not forget that black lop-eared rabbit plush; the white bowtie tied around its neck echoes the colors of my own necktie. When holding it during the shoot, my entire state and movements naturally became gentle.

A seaside location shoot actually comes with a lot of randomness, especially the sea breeze, which kept blowing the ribbons on the wig and the hair strands. Although it added some atmosphere to the styling, it also required constantly adjusting angles and fixing my bangs to ensure a good output. This sense of environmental realism is hard to replace with studio shooting; the rough texture of the reefs, the character's soft white dress, and the black rabbit form a gentle contrast in composition. The hardest part during the shooting process was actually finding footing on these somewhat jagged rocks, ensuring both a natural and relaxed sitting posture while letting the sea water behind display its optimal color and ripple state perfectly.

From a personal aesthetic standpoint, I prefer this translucent quality under natural light. There is no overly exaggerated post-processing in the photos; instead, more focus was placed on capturing the flow of light and shadow on the water surface and clothing. This is also a highly crucial point in cosplay photography—placing the character in an environment that matches her traits; no deliberate heavy embellishments are needed, as a faint touch is already more than enough.

The shooting process for this photo set went very smoothly overall, and the open view of the seaside along with the abundant sunlight kept my mood highly relaxed. This set of images mainly hopes to convey the character's serene, slightly melancholic, yet gentle tone. As a classic character of this work, I personally feel I have done my best to stay close to the core design of the original work in terms of the accuracy of the costume and props. I hope those who watch it can feel that unique atmosphere belonging to the seaside summer and the pureness inherent to the character through these visuals. This counts as a recent favorite outdoor record for me; combining photography and character recreation together is indeed a wonderful experience for an anime cosplay project.
