When shooting this Uesugi Erii cosplay, the most effort went into arranging the costume and securing the hairstyle. The Red wig was extraordinarily long and thick; just brushing it out smoothly and making sure the bangs didn't obstruct my view took quite some time. Styling the Red wig required continuously misting it with water to control the hair flow, creating that natural draped look seen in the photos. The little yellow rubber duck on top of my head was a prop I paired myself; perched on the red hair, it looked particularly adorable, adding a touch of gap-moe contrast to the entire look.

As for the costume itself, this red-and-white Shrine maiden outfit is rich in detail; the oversized sleeves restricted hand movement when posing, yet fit the character's quiet and introverted personality perfectly. The red decorative cords at the collar and waist have great texture, but due to their weight, their positions needed frequent adjustments to avoid tugging down on the collar. In terms of makeup, the red contact lenses were the centerpiece; paired with delicate, slender lower eyelashes, they gave the eyes a clearer gaze tinged with subtle melancholy.

The shots lying back against the pink backdrop were the most exhausting to capture—I had to fight gravity and completely relax my neck and body to convey that natural, languid, and slightly lost gaze. When I first attempted to look straight into the camera, the photographer repeatedly reminded me not to look too blank, but to focus on the lens so the gaze in the photo would carry piercing intensity. For the seated shot, to spread the skirt hem out beautifully, I readjusted my leg positioning several times while controlling my body's tilt angle.

Since the backdrop was an expansive solid pink, lighting requirements were very strict—a slight deviation would make the white fabric look murky, so several fill-light setups were dialed in on-site. The white fabric is somewhat sheer, requiring proper undergarments to maintain a clean, tidy look. This look doesn't lean on sexy elements, focusing instead on portraying the character's aloof yet innocent demeanor, making emotional expression far more important than mere posing. With every click of the shutter, we were searching for the moment that best resonated with the character. Though the shoot was tiring, seeing the finished results made every adjustment feel completely worthwhile.
