For this Zenless Zone Zero outdoor shoot, the ring-shaped weapon in my hand took the most effort. The size of the prop is quite large, with curved blades inside and a golden ring outside, and the surface is also made with gray panels and orange and green detail stickers. To be able to wield it flexibly in the convention outdoor shoot, I spent a long time adjusting the prop's weighting to ensure it can maintain balance when held with one hand, while also coordinating composition with various squatting and standing postures.
The detail layers of the costume are quite rich. The main body is a combination of white, black, and yellow, supplemented by red Chinese-style frog buttons as embellishments. The most eye-catching part is undoubtedly the black-and-white split-color wig, as well as the red-and-white plush panda hair accessories on the buns on both sides. Paired with cyan-green earrings, the overall presentation gives a lively yet Chinese-style techwear visual effect. To restore the design, the White stockings on the lower body and platform shoes with metal buckles are indispensable. White stockings are actually very easy to snag during convention outdoor shoots, so special care must be taken when walking and squatting; I always carry spare ones with me just in case.
The natural light on the day of the shoot was very translucent, and we framed our shots on the trail near the botanical garden and next to the red pillars. The tailoring of this outfit is very slim-fit, and it's easy to expose when movements are large, so invisible anti-exposure stickers were chosen for the inner wear. I tried several poses of different styles. When standing and holding the weapon, pay attention to straightening your waist and back, putting your center of gravity on the back leg to make the leg lines smoother; when balancing with one leg raised, you need to tighten your core while wrapping the weapon around your side, using the arc of the prop to balance the frame; when squatting, try to use the weapon as a foreground frame, utilizing the perspective of the ring to highlight the character's face and upper body.
As for the character Dialyn, although everyone has different interpretations of her settings in the game, in terms of visual presentation, I believe the key lies in her state of seeming lazy yet full of power. At the convention site, because the panda elements and black-and-white hair color of this outfit are very eye-catching, I was often recognized by passersby asking for photos. To keep the makeup clean, I always carried setting powder for touch-ups. The skirt hem and arm sleeves of this outfit have a large amount of black stripes and white ruffles, which need to be rolled up specially when storing, otherwise they easily crease and affect the photo output effect.
Overall, this cosplay was full of challenges from prop making to styling matching, but it was also very fulfilling. I hope these convention photos allow everyone to feel the unique charm of this character, and I look forward to having better lighting and scenes next time to continue perfecting this styling.
