The characterization of Hyacinthia in Honkai: Star Rail has always made my heart flutter, and this time I finally had the opportunity to bring her into reality.

When I first got this costume, my most intuitive feeling was the magnificence of the extensive red and white color scheme. The dark red velvet material of the top has an excellent texture, which, when paired with the layered white ruffled skirt hem and the highly prominent blue bowknot on the chest, creates a sharp color contrast with the elegance of a Western fairytale. This time, I wore a pink twin-tail wig with blue-green highlights intentionally added to the hair tips, perfectly echoing the bowknot at the collar. The fluff on the hat and the small white bowknots are also packed with details, appearing exceptionally substantial on camera. In terms of clothing coordination, to highlight the character's lively and agile temperament, I chose white tights paired with black thick-soled leather shoes, where the black lace trim and red bowknot at the shoe opening precisely form a color linkage with the red short-cape-style skirt design.

For this shoot, we spent a long time setting up the scene to adjust the details. My friends and I decorated a courtyard corner with vintage French flair. The backdrop was filled with clusters of pink and white hydrangeas, yellow roses, and lush green foliage, which, working with the lightweight and soft white gauze drapes and that white metallic birdcage, created a quiet and romantic dreamlike atmosphere. The prop preparation was also done with great care; besides the character's iconic magnificent magic staff, we specially found a hardcover book with a deep blue cover to place on the round table covered with a white lace tablecloth. The white ceramic coffee cup and saucer beside the book were not mere decorations in the frame, but critical elements to render the cozy afternoon vibe. Of course, special thanks also go to the "Xiao Yika" plush toy this time. Its white plush material paired with a blue bow tie and a small golden crown beautifully enriched the layering of the frame, making the entire scene more vivid and three-dimensional, whether held high in hand or cradled in my arms.

During the shoot, I focused on tapping into that gentle, healing power within the character. To break away from the cramped feeling of traditional convention studio shoots, we attempted various interactive forms, such as raising the plush toy into the air or pretending to hand a coffee cup to the camera. These natural dynamic moments relaxed my state in front of the lens significantly. The photographer @Yongzhe (Enshi Maoju) is highly skilled at capturing these inadvertent small expressions. By adjusting the side lighting and fill light, he gave the image a warm, soft-focus effect, keeping the overall visual harmony even with the intense red and white color blocking on the outfit. This post-processing approach, combined with the floral backdrop we selected beforehand, endowed the entire set of photos with a quality akin to a fairytale picture book.

Regarding character portrayal, I avoided overly forced expressions, hoping instead to genuinely convey Hyacinthia's friendliness and agility through expressions and body language. When shooting this photoset, I kept my gaze as relaxed and natural as possible, as if truly inviting friends to visit my courtyard. This attempt made up for my regrets regarding some performance effects of this character, making it a highly delightful creative process. Special thanks to @Miaomiaomiao for providing the inspiration support for Xiao Yika as well. I hope this sharing can elegantly tell Hyacinthia's story from visuals to atmosphere through this girl photography project, fulfilling my passion for this roleplay experience.
