Today, I visited Southern Cross Cafe to take part in the Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium One-day store manager event, and the on-site atmosphere and decorations genuinely exceeded my expectations. Being so close to Joy City made getting here remarkably convenient; stepping through the doors, you are instantly immersed in the dense anime aesthetic of this ACGN themed store, fully stocked with character standees, posters, themed menu items, and exclusive merchandise.
For this occasion, I donned a blue-and-white Maid outfit cosplay, putting extensive preparation into details from head to toe. The costume itself features rich layering—white frills and lace cuffs paired with a light blue pinafore dress body, anchored at the waist by an oversized black bow centered with a striking red heart jewel for intense visual punch. To introduce a playful edge, I wore a pink cartoon eyepatch over my right eye and tied a delicate black bow tie around my neck.
What required the most thought was the asymmetrical leg styling: the left leg wore blue-and-white horizontal striped over-the-knee socks, while the right leg featured jacquard-patterned White stockings adorned with tiny black bows, finished with chunky-heeled black leather shoes. A golden chain cascaded from the large black waist bow, anchoring a massive vintage pocket watch prop at its end. Harmonizing with the light blue striped pleats along the skirt hem, the entire aesthetic balanced adorable sweetness with retro mechanical flair.
As the One-day store manager, my primary duties today were assisting with in-store activities and interacting with visiting players. Posing before the officially licensed themed backdrops, I executed various interactive gestures, such as balancing on one leg while lifting the skirt hem or making finger hearts with both hands. Engaging in real-life interactions within a fully themed venue with custom catering felt far more three-dimensional than standing at a conventional exhibition booth.
I met many enthusiastic commanders on site—everyone was polite, and many chatted with me about nuanced in-game lore. Maintaining poise for hours while constantly minding skirt drapery, stockings, and prop positioning before cameras took physical stamina, yet seeing everyone's appreciation for this blue-and-white maid look made every bit of effort worthwhile.
The ambiance at officially licensed themed cafe events is wonderful—savoring themed treats while exchanging insights with fellow fans fills the entire venue with heartfelt passion. Serving as the One-day store manager today was an immensely fulfilling experience, and I look forward to participating in more offline themed store events like this in the future.
