From October 1st to 4th, I will head to the Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center to participate in the 8th Zhengzhou ACC Anime Convention. This time, I have prepared multiple cosplay outfits across distinct styles, ranging from an elegant pink-and-white maxi dress to a sharp black-and-white Maid outfit cosplay, as well as a form-fitting blue modernized cheongsam. For this convention, I began testing my makeup and adjusting props a month in advance. Taking this blue-haired maid look as an example, to achieve the finest visual effect, I specifically paired it with lace-trimmed white tights for a delicate White tights cosplay touch, along with detail-packed black leather shoes. From trimming the wig to coordinating accessories, I strived to capture the character's unique demeanor. For the other look—a black-haired blue modernized cheongsam—I chose sheer black tights; the tailored silhouette of the qipao beautifully contours the body's curves, and while walking under the venue lights, the side-slit design appears remarkably sleek. There is also the silver-white gradient wig paired with a cyan floral petal skirt, creating an airy fluttering motion when moving.
At the convention venue, three halls will open concurrently with all-day air conditioning, which is wonderfully accommodating for cosplayers wearing heavy wigs and intricate costumes, relieving worries about heatstroke or melting makeup. The guest lineup debuting from October 1 to 4 is also exceptionally star-studded, featuring Feng Ming Jiong Jun, Suo Mang Guo He, Ni Shi Ba, Jing Jian, San Shui, Tei Jin, Luo Bo D, Shi Yu, Bu Fei, Mao Dian Zi, Dao Mei Si Le, Da Qi, Zi Wu A, Xuan Zhe, Huai Nan, Shi Ba, Xiao Dao Island, Hu Liangwei, Ji Ziying, Yi Kai, Rui Si, Jiu Nuan Chun Shen, Ma La Tu, Pizza, and many more.
I usually love interacting with everyone at the venue, whether shooting convention photos or swapping freebies—it always lets me feel everyone's shared passion for this culture. I believe cosplay is not just about putting on a costume, but about studying the character's body language and expressions, using wardrobe and props to convey a specific aura. Scouting ideal lighting and fine-tuning shooting angles on site is also an essential ritual for me every time I attend—such as utilizing overhead hall lights or photography lights to highlight the fabric textures and stocking sheerness. This time, I also successfully secured passes through the Independent travel application and Cosplay Ambassador program, and I can't wait to meet everyone and enjoy Taking photos with cosplayers at conventions during the National Day holiday. I have already started packing my luggage, sorting wigs, props, touch-up kits, and spare stockings neatly. I hope to create unforgettable memories together with everyone on site!
