This time, I'm bringing the swimsuit version of Mika! Honestly, this look has a lot of details, especially the decoration combining stars and wings on top of the head, plus the semi-transparent tulle headpiece, giving it a very unique texture under the night shoot lighting. To recreate the atmosphere of the character vacationing by the sea, I specifically chose to come to the night beach for the shoot, so that the dark background can better highlight the light-colored clothing and pink hair. The harsh daylight on the beach easily causes over-reflection on the tulle and wings, whereas fill-lighting at night makes the skin texture look softer and allows the gradient colors on the swim ring to be preserved more naturally.
Let me share the state during the shoot. This swimsuit is actually a one-piece design, covered with a layer of semi-sheer white shirt and tulle skirt. When walking, the skirt hem and wings flutter along, so that pose in the third photo with one leg raised and arms wide open actually tests one's balance, but the final shot looks truly full of energy. I also prepared an inflatable swim ring this time. Originally, I planned to get into the water, but the wind was quite strong at night, and fearing it would mess up my hair, I just played around on the sand for a bit.
Looking back at the photos, I feel the night beach definitely has more atmosphere than during the day. The background is purely black, and the rim light from the flash makes the whole figure look very three-dimensional. Walking barefoot on the sand during the shoot, the sand felt cool, and with the starry glimmers of light (actually a small prop I brought myself), it truly felt like the character's relaxed vacation vibe in the game. The combination of the blue bow and white on this outfit is very refreshing; no need to try too hard when posing, just a natural smile is perfect. I participated in everything from the early makeup and hair styling to the post-production color grading, and I feel this night shoot experience was highly worthwhile, capturing a texture completely different from the daytime.
