This set of The Shorekeeper cosplay photos is one of the dreamy blue color scheme atmosphere themes I have been wanting to express recently. The character of The Shorekeeper in Wuthering Waves possesses a special temperament that drifts away from the hustle and bustle. To accurately capture this feeling, a light blue, slightly wavy wig was chosen for the styling, paired with a semi-transparent veil and a white bow hair accessory to restore the character's clean and cool impression. The layering of the costume was also highlighted in the set design, especially the blue-and-white gradient skirt hem and the ruffle tailoring of the sleeves, which form very soft curves when moving around.
For the makeup, heavy colors were discarded in favor of cool-toned pearlescent and light blue eyeshadow accents, paired with a nude lip gloss, hoping to convey a gentle yet firm sense of strength. On the day of the shoot, a miniature scene dominated by blue translucent tulle drapes was built in the studio. A large number of softboxes were used to create a soft diffuse reflection effect, and a few white vintage birdcages and fluttering butterfly props were placed in the foreground to add a sense of narrative to the frame. To enhance that hazy feeling in the frame, a low-density soft-focus filter was intentionally added in front of the lens, which gives the edges of the highlights a slight halation, making the skin tone appear more translucent.
The fixation of the headwear was also specially reinforced to prevent it from slipping off due to the range of movements during shooting, which would affect the visual experience. During the shoot, I would adjust my sitting posture from time to time, letting the veil drape naturally in front of my eyes to create an atmosphere that was both translucent and detached. In front of the camera, I also tried closing my eyes to feel the deep meaning of the character's line, "I was born into this world because of you," striving to express that sense of destiny through my gaze. Whether standing or sitting on the ground, I tried my best to stretch my limbs and blend in with the surrounding sheer drapes. Although the preparation work for this cosplay was tedious, after the final photos came out, I felt that all the attempts regarding colors and atmosphere in this Anime-style photography work were completely worth it.
