For this Shenhe cosplay photoshoot, a lot of thought went into recreating the details of the costume and props. This outfit of Genshin Impact's Shenhe inherently possesses rich layering, with black as the dominant hue complemented by intricate gold embroidery and tassels. To present the best possible texture before the lens, I did plenty of homework on coordinating the accessories. The golden neck ornament and detached wide sleeves required precise angle adjustments under the exhibition hall lighting to fully bring out the three-dimensional depth of the embroidery.

Handling the wig was another key point: the edges of the long silver-white hair featured a subtle blue-gray gradient, and the headpiece was accented with blue tassels that swayed naturally with every movement. For makeup, purple contact lenses were paired with a reddish lip tint, and the eye makeup was drawn sharp and clean to closely match the character's aloof, ethereal aura. Every time I put on the contacts and wig, my entire state of mind instantly switches—that is the most wondrous part of a Role-playing game and cosplay experience.

In terms of props, this translucent Oiled paper umbrella was the soul of the shoot. The umbrella canopy featured delicate blue-and-white patterns, with finely crafted golden ribs. Whether opened or closed, it felt substantial in hand. When opened, special attention was needed regarding how the canopy interacted with lighting; because the material is translucent, failing to find the right angle would block facial lighting or cast messy rib shadows across the face. When closed, balancing the umbrella's length and center of gravity required wrist control to coordinate with my stride, keeping the frame from looking stiff.

To complement the visual proportions of this outfit, I chose a pair of black platform chunky-heel Mary Janes. Although the platform visually elongates leg lines, the high heels make posing a genuine test of stamina and balance. In one photo where I balanced on one leg with a knee raised, keeping the drape of the skirt and leg muscular lines clean required constant core engagement, with my left leg anchoring my center of gravity on the ground—any slight wobble meant starting over.

The high-slit cut of the costume certainly emphasizes leg length, though thorough precautions were necessary to prevent accidental exposure. The golden metallic ring on the right thigh was a highlight; securing it required adjusting the tension just right—snug enough not to slip when walking, yet loose enough not to pinch the skin. The subtle patterns and lace stitching on the shorts hold up well under close-up inspection, all polished step by step during our preparation.

The shooting location was set in a spacious exhibition hall, where ceiling lights in the background created natural, soft bokeh, and the floor offered great reflectivity. Leveraging ambient venue light paired with the photographer's lighting setup, the overall color tone leaned cool, nicely accentuating this black attire. The photo sitting on the stepladder utilized the height difference to let the skirt drape naturally, complementing the opened Oiled paper umbrella to create a much fuller composition.

When moving around in this outfit, the detached sleeves imposed some restrictions, preventing me from raising my arms too high. Thus, when posing, I relied more on micro-adjustments of the wrists and shoulders—such as holding the closed umbrella while glancing back slightly, or resting the umbrella gently against the nape of my neck. This Shenhe cosplay, from costume detail presentation to physical poise control, was a wonderful learning experience in Genshin Impact cosplay.
