Yet as a professional cosplayer, facing meticulously prepared costumes and set designs, fatigue quickly gives way to creative passion once the shutter starts clicking. The overarching visual tone for this shoot was set around cool elegance, ethereal grace, and dreamy serenity.

Starting with the makeup and wig styling: to restore the divine nobility and nimble charm of Ganyu in Genshin Impact, I selected a layered, light blue long curly wig topped with her iconic red-and-black horned headpiece as the visual focal point. White artificial blossoms accented the headpiece to soften color transitions. The pearl and chain choker at the neck served as a crowning detail, filling out the open neckline. Outfit-wise, the white off-the-shoulder corset beautifully contoured the waist, while contrasting black base panels and tailored chest cuts created crisp visual depth. The most demanding piece was the voluminous skirt hem, crafted from cascading layers of fine blue and white mesh tissue. Gradient tones shift from deep royal blue at the core to light sky blue and crisp white at the outer edges, fanning out like gentle waves when walking or seated to deliver immaculate movement and texture.

Set construction required significant effort from our team. We selected classical European white Roman pillars and pedestals, accented with abundant blue-hued artificial florals and white roses as spatial fillers. A white metallic iron birdcage nestled in the corner served as a visual anchor, layering a subtle classical fairytale aura over the scene. A particularly clever touch was laying high-reflectivity flooring, mimicking shallow water or mirror surfaces on camera. Clear, crisp reflections in the final frames impart an airy, breathing quality to the entire image, where interweaving blue and white water reflections perfectly align with Ganyu's serene, gentle detachment.

Across four distinct camera compositions, we explored varied poses and emotional nuance. In the second frame, sitting on the pedestal with a subtle leg lift highlighted leg contours and the outfit's dynamic drape, leveraging exposed collarbone lines and corset tailoring to express the refined silhouette of a 2D character within a cool atmosphere. The bare-foot styling in the first three shots, coupled with sheer crisscross leg straps, added a weightless, casual elegance. The final series transitioned to white high heels adorned with blue ribbon bows, paired with trailing blue gauze ribbons lifted in hand, instantly infusing the atmosphere with ethereal motion. Interacting with props and sheer fabrics effectively simulated wind dynamics, imparting a narrative sense of movement to static portraiture.

For lighting, we uniformly employed high-key soft diffuse light. Compared to harsh key lights, diffuse illumination renders skin tones porcelain-smooth while preventing intricate mesh gowns and white backdrops from appearing overly rigid. In post-processing color grading, I deliberately accentuated cool teal-blue tones while lowering saturation and contrast to preserve a clean, watercolor-like transparent texture. Though long hours in the studio triggered physical tiredness, seeing the final images made every effort worthwhile—the tranquil visual calm of the cool color palette thoroughly wiped away the day's exhaustion.
