This time, I'm bringing you a final photo set of Sayu cosplay from Genshin Impact. What attracts me most about Sayu is her gap moe—being able to fall asleep anytime, anywhere, yet running incredibly fast using ninjutsu. To recreate her fluffy feel, the ears on the hood and the tail were specially chosen to be made of faux rabbit fur, which feels extremely soft to the touch. The color scheme of this outfit is dominated by warm yellow and purple. Combined with the details of straps and bells, the overall look carries both the crispness of a ninja and the laziness of a small animal.

The temperature was a bit high on the day of the shoot. Walking around outdoors in a thick hooded coat plus a tail actually made me sweat quite a bit, but it was totally worth it to present the best results. In terms of pose design, I intentionally imitated her half-awake yet hard-at-work state, such as lying on a rock completely zoning out, squatting and dazing off while hugging her tail, and the starting stance when preparing to dash at high speed. The photographer was great at candid shots, capturing all of that dazed cuteness. The venue was chosen to be a Japanese-style courtyard. The blue tiles, white walls, and scattered rockeries fit the atmosphere of Inazuma City perfectly.

During post-processing, natural skin tones and realistic light and shadow were preserved without over-smoothing the skin, hoping to let everyone feel the inherent liveliness of this character's 2D daily life. Shooting this kind of costume with props really tests one's coordination, especially controlling the center of gravity of the tail. It easily tilts if you are even slightly unstable, but fortunately, after trying a few times, I found the balance point. Regarding the makeup, I focused on deepening the eye contours to make the gaze look softer, while keeping the overall look clean and translucent. Although this process was tiring, being able to bring a character I love into reality is a highly fulfilling Roleplay experience in itself. I hope this set of photos can convey that casual and cute feeling of Sayu through this Cosplay photography project.
