On Day 3 of CJ, approaching closing time, the foot traffic finally tapered off a bit. Seizing the decent daylight under the pedestrian overpass outside the exhibition hall, I quickly pulled photographer @D3 aside to shoot this set of Ganyu Cosplay Convention photos. This outfit features an abundance of details, and the blue-and-white color palette looked wonderfully translucent under the outdoor diffused light. Preparing for this convention, trimming and styling the wig beforehand took substantial time; the lace hair accessory atop and the black-and-red bow on the right required repeated adjustments to ensure balanced proportions before the lens.
The top features a white corset design whose boning structure flatters the silhouette, though it also meant holding an upright, poised posture throughout the entire afternoon. The golden round clasp on the chest and the lace choker are central focal points; they had to be perfectly centered, otherwise the visual weight of the frame would feel off-balance. The light blue semi-sheer tulle sleeve cuffs on my arms have a pronounced drape, requiring dynamic movement so they floated naturally rather than clinging stiffly like flat cloth. The light blue tutu skirt on the lower half, combined with white lace underlayers, provides rich visual depth—I had to lift the hem slightly while walking to avoid stepping on it. The sheer white over-the-knee stockings paired with garter straps looked gorgeous as White suspender stockings, but to prevent them from slipping or leaving harsh marks, I reinforced them with both anti-slip tape and safety pins before heading out. The white Mary Jane heels weren't excessively high, yet after walking across the venue all day, my arches were definitely aching.
The lighting beneath the pedestrian overpass turned out much better than expected: diffused soft light fell across the white stockings and tulle skirt, rendering exceptionally delicate textures. To capture an airy, ethereal mood, I made arm-raising and stretching gestures while engaging my core to keep body lines fluid and elongated. Photographer @D3 is fantastic at capturing fleeting motion, especially the precise moments when the sleeves drape down and the skirt hem flutters. Nearing departure, my stamina was nearly depleted, yet standing in front of the lens, I wanted to showcase the tactile texture of this costume as perfectly as possible. For facial expressions, I avoided anything overly dramatic, focusing on maintaining attentive eyes with a slightly tucked chin to embody a serene, tranquil state.
Every cosplay outing is a test of detail and patience, from initial preparations to live shooting. Delivering this set of Convention photos smoothly was possible thanks to the photographer's precise mastery over light and shadow. Leaving behind a set like this as the convention drew to a close felt like the perfect finishing touch to this event journey.
