To capture that vibe of an outstanding student of the Akademiya this time, I really put a lot of effort into props and styling during the pre-production stage. Let's first talk about the diploma prop everyone cares about the most. Actually, this certificate was printed on thick specialty paper after finding materials and layout design. To restore that retro feel, I specially treated the edges to look slightly yellowed, and the red seal in the middle was sealed with sealing wax, giving it a very substantial weight in hand. The golden trophy next to it was also a small prop specifically hunted down, and it reflects light exceptionally well under the spotlight.

In terms of makeup and hair, the overall cut of this blue-and-gold color-blocked uniform is quite crisp; it's necessary to carefully arrange the standing collar and the three-dimensional golden diamond structure on the chest, otherwise it easily looks sagging. A lot of thought also went into trimming and styling the wig, requiring cutting out layers that are slightly curled and somewhat messy, especially the bangs part—it needs to partially block the line of sight to create that focused feeling of lowering the head and casting down eyes, while not appearing too stuffy. The earrings were chosen as translucent blue long-style ones, so that they can form a bit of echo with the hair color against the dark-toned background.

During the shoot, to match the sense of honor of being named an annual outstanding student mentioned in this certificate, the photographer and I communicated and adopted a classic spotlight lighting technique. This high-contrast light and shadow can instantly strip away the clutter of the background, making the character completely focused in the center of the frame. The huge black shadow pulled out behind by the side-backlight also added some dramatic tension and a sense of storytelling. The shooting angle chose a slight high-angle overhead shot, matching the character's posture of looking down at the certificate, showcasing a restrained yet calm temperament.

As an all-in-one cosplayer who handles modeling, makeup/styling, and post-processing all by myself, every time I see the images conceived in my mind turn into reality bit by bit through my own hands, that sense of satisfaction is irreplaceable. From early character design analysis, to custom matching of costumes and props, to on-site lighting communication and post-processing color grading, every single link requires meticulous consideration. This blue-toned post-processing also tried to preserve the texture of the clothing as much as possible without excessive skin smoothing, hoping to present a more realistic film texture. Seeing that figure holding the trophy and certificate in the final finished photos, all the cumbersome pre-preparation and fatigue during the shoot were truly worth it.
