At the Shanghai P&I Photography exhibition, I had the opportunity to experiment with a wide variety of visual concepts. The exhibition floor was brimming with diverse stage setups—from neon-lit biker garages and sun-dappled forest sets to a pure white plush carpet studio dedicated to celestial angel themes.
The Blue hair style Angel cosplay was undoubtedly my favorite look from the event. I styled a short, pastel-blue wig to go with a tiered white lace dress, feathered wings, and a metallic floating halo. Posing with large props like wings and halos can easily look rigid, so I kept my spine straight and angled my body slightly three-quarters to let the wing silhouette fan out cleanly. Holding an apple or interacting with a plush white rabbit gave hands a natural resting point. Soft, relaxed gazes paired with the booth's diffused beauty dishes formed a weightless, dreamy aesthetic fitting for Atmospheric photography.
Contrasting setups included a cyberpunk biker zone with hard red-blue neon, where a halter top, denim cutoffs, and an action cam took center stage, as well as a natural woodland campsite featuring denim overalls, headphones, and a book. Handling dense exhibition crowds comes down to intentional framing: shooting from low angles against starry backdrops bypassed spectators, while wide apertures dissolved harsh background clutter. Coordinating distinct Photo poses—such as staggered seated postures and diagonal wall-leaning lines—brought out the best across every concept, deepening my appreciation for on-site lighting.
