[Sandrone Marionette cosplay] Tome of Genshin Impact: A Cup of Black Tea Alone on the Sofa

Sharing an official finished set for Sandrone Marionette. The guiding theme of this shoot centered on the character's intrinsic elegance and mystery, which, paired with the photographer's vintage study set design, brought the overarching atmosphere and rich textures to peak performance.

Because this post primarily breaks down Photo poses, I coordinated closely with photographer Bai Jun to refine my body posture so she could lock onto the most flattering camera angles. The costume design is remarkably intricate: a red, black, and gold palette accented by generous ruffled tiers and golden embroidery, carrying noticeable physical weight and substantial texture. To convey the character's upright poise and elegance, when shooting seated postures I deliberately perched sideways on the armrest of the leather sofa. This allowed the layered skirts to drape and fan out naturally while beautifully showcasing the leg lines in White stockings alongside the sleek silhouette of the black high heels. For the over-the-shoulder glance, calibrating the jawline angle was essential—keeping shoulders slightly dropped while casting a gaze into the lens imbued with an aloof, assessing scrutiny of the unknown.

When capturing the sequence interacting with books, I focused on channeling that subtle, stiff rigidity befitting a 'marionette.' Reaching toward the bookshelf with white-gloved fingers, keeping my torso angled slightly to maintain clear exposure on the key-lit plane harmonized with the character's detached, enigmatic persona. For the subsequent full-body and medium frames by the desk, to accentuate light and shadow interplay, I followed the photographer's guidance to adjust my arm placement—propping one hand on the desk surface so light poured in from an overhead diagonal angle, facilitating an oil-painting texture in post-processing.

Overall, this session demanded strict discipline in facial expression management; coordinating with elegant makeup and elaborate props (such as teacups and candelabras) meant neither smiling broadly nor looking wooden. The studio staging was thoroughly curated: bookshelves, antique maps, candles, and an owl ornament all contributed to a cohesive world-building mood. In post-production, Teacher Bai Jun's warm, shadowed color grading flawlessly aligned with my vision of the character, making me feel completely immersed in the persona in that fleeting moment.
