[Columbina Cosplay] First Wig try-on Experience with Genshin Impact Damselette Wig and Official Plush

The wig and official plush finally arrived on the same day, and I couldn't wait to put on the hair for a quick Wig try-on. The moment I held them, I felt it was totally worth it. Since the matching costume is still on its way and Manjiong's outfit accessories haven't shipped yet, this is purely a Wig styling record. Seeing the actual product was such a wonderful surprise that I couldn't resist taking a few photos to remember it. Even without wearing the full costume, just this hair got me super excited.

This time I acquired the wig for Genshin Impact's Columbina, and the hair color accuracy of the physical item is extremely high. The main portion is a glossy natural black, which, paired with straight bangs and sideburns, fits the gentle yet mysterious aura characteristic of the character. The brightest highlight is the red-purple gradient highlights at the hair ends and twin-tails, featuring a smooth transition across purplish-red tones that brightens skin tone and boosts complexion. The bangs thickness is just right without feeling heavy, and the crown height is full, eliminating the need to pad hair roots—wearing it directly instantly creates a smaller face illusion, while smooth fibers make it easy to manage. The twin-tails have great volume, offering lovely drape when secured with hair ties that adds great ambiance whether paired with maiden styles or other Anime cosplay outfits.

I also got the official plush, which features the same hair color and doll head with adorable details. Holding it while doing the Wig try-on gives the scene a storybook quality, like two versions of myself standing together. The synchronization between the wig and doll is exceptionally high. As a prop, the official plush complements the composition perfectly; holding it during photos eases awkwardness and helps adjust postures, rendering the entire image natural and vivid.

Since only the wig and plush have arrived so far, I paired them casually with my everyday light apricot loose camisole featuring ruffled edges. Although it looks casual without costume splendor, I feel this better highlights the wig's texture while staying closer to a maiden's lightweight state. In recreating characters, every detail matters—wigs, makeup, costumes, and lighting on props must be matched step-by-step. While trying on the wig today, I pondered future makeup plans; Genshin Impact character makeup is usually translucent, where a nude finish with a blush touch adds vital complexion. Once the outfit arrives, pairing it with more accurate makeup and styling should yield even better photos.

Only fellow fans truly understand the excitement of receiving great goods! Although not wearing a full set feels slightly OOC, I think minor imperfections during the Wig try-on phase are an authentic part of cosplay, as piecing a character together bit by bit is fantastic in itself. The entire trial was done at home, spending time adjusting before the mirror. Since bangs have thickness, care was needed when styling how much they cover the eyes to capture bright, innocent gazes.
