I've been looking forward to this Azure Spirit Dream cosplay fitting for a long time, and the moment it arrived today, I couldn't wait to try it on. First of all, special thanks to Zhinv Queqing; the craftsmanship and details of this costume are truly beyond reproach.

The design of this outfit preserves the classic elements of Reimu Hakurei while introducing a very gorgeous derivative twist. That colossal bow on the head is the absolute highlight—it's not made of a plain solid fabric, but spliced with blue floral prints and white linework botanical patterns, bordered by a dense ring of delicate white lace. To support the three-dimensional structure of this bow, a relatively stiff interfacing must have been used inside; it has substantial weight on the head, yet the center of gravity is balanced quite well without straining the neck.

The top features an asymmetrical patchwork design. The chest area incorporates blue fabric with landscape prints accented by textured brownish-tan trim down the center, alongside a folded fabric accent on the side, creating a rich sense of layering overall. What stunned me most were the sleeves: extremely wide bell sleeves paired with layer upon layer of ruffles, printed with black botanical vine line art, boasting fantastic drape. Even with so many layers across the sleeves and skirt hem, it doesn't appear overly bulky once worn—the tailoring nips in firmly at the waist, creating a very flattering silhouette.

The skirt on the lower half uses blue printed fabric echoing the top, accented by white lace horizontal stripes along the hem and blue crisscross lacing at the front of the waist. The jagged white fringe trim along the bottom edge of the skirt is also packed with detail. Standing in front of the mirror in this outfit made me feel instantly glamorous. Since indoor lighting was rather dim today, I adjusted my standing position intentionally to catch top lighting, bringing out the interplay of light and shade across the fabric textures and silhouette.

The process of trying it on was actually quite a bit of work, especially smoothing out those layered ruffles, which required some patience. But seeing the finished look in the mirror made every second worthwhile. The design of Azure Spirit Dream perfectly matches my aesthetic expectations for Touhou Project fan-derivative costumes. Now I just hope to catch a sunny day soon to shoot a satisfying photo set and properly document this exquisite costume.
