This is a makeup test shot half a year ago; looking back at it now, it still captures the exact feeling I wanted at the time. To celebrate the Princess's birthday, I spent considerable time preparing this look, though it was such a pity the wig for the bunny dress couldn't arrive in time, leaving me crying inside. The core of this test centered on faithfully recreating her classic elements. Hunting down the wig took a while, but I finally selected this vibrant teal Blue wig styled into voluminous Twintails. With ample hair density, just a bit of layered styling created fluffy fullness at the crown, and the bangs were trimmed right along the browline. For headpieces, I paired black headphones accented with red and silver details, adding a black choker around my neck to infuse a touch of electro-mechanical cyber texture.
For the makeup, to fit the 2D aesthetic, the base makeup was kept fair and clean, paired with bright blue contact lenses to give the eyes an electric spark. For eye makeup, a sweeping wash of pink blush blended from under the eyes down to the cheeks, with clustered false lower lashes applied piece by piece—enlarging the eyes while retaining a hint of cool, untouchable detachment. The lip color was a natural peachy tint, softening the overall cooler color palette. The outfit was a white and teal sleeveless design with matching arm sleeves adorned with black armor plates and yellow/teal square panels. Holding the curved black keyboard prop—complete with an electronic grid display and yellow-green keys—alongside a matching teal Twintails plushie in my arms, the entire frame carried a lovely blend of machine aesthetics and maiden charm in this Hatsune Miku cosplay.
Since this was just a makeup test, there was no elaborate set construction; I shot directly against a plain gray wall. The keyboard prop in hand was very lightweight, so striking poses wasn't tiring at all. The plushie was so soft that cuddling it for photos helped me unwind completely. As for the rabbit dress, I originally wanted to publish it right on her birthday; missing the wig was truly a huge regret, so that will have to wait for the next schedule. Preparing a Hatsune Miku cosplay from the Vocaloid universe always requires so much meticulous effort—from trimming the Blue wig and designing the makeup to matching accessories, I always strive to pack in extra detail. Even though this makeup test is from six months ago, looking back at my eyelid tape and eyeshadow blending, while not entirely flawless, reflects genuine experience gathered through continuous trials. I hope to successfully finish the complete rabbit dress look soon, bringing out all that bouncy vitality and sweetness.
