Today's photoset, I want to meet everyone in the state of Sakiko Toyokawa. While shooting this cosplay photoset, I kept thinking about how to present her temperament mixed with determination and firmness.
The blue stair array of the shooting location presents a very regular geometric sense under the sunlight. This empty yet quiet environment perfectly matches the character's inner loneliness and strength. I wore a pure white long-sleeve shirt with a black bow at the collar, paired with a gray-and-white checkered pleated skirt, holding that transparent umbrella in my hand. In terms of prop selection, the gloss refracted by the transparent umbrella under strong light made my entire outline appear exceptionally clear. To restore the character, I specially wore light blue long straight hair and golden contact lenses, and arranged slender green hair accessories on the side of my hair. Every time I held the umbrella and looked back in front of the lens, I was trying to capture that quiet and contemplative side of her.
While preparing this work, I repeatedly chewed over some texts about her. "The weak me of the past is already dead"—this line carries the weight of cutting off all retreats. "I will protect my own band in my own way." As a coser, when I wore these clothes and props neatly and stood among those blue seats, what I felt was not only the restoration of the external styling, but also the inner resonance of that resilient strength. She is no longer that confused shadow, but has a clear goal, and even if the future is full of unknowns, she will walk on in her own way. I hope that through this photoset, I can convey this cocoon-breaking transformation like a butterfly.
In post-processing color grading, I deliberately retained a cold, icy blue tone without doing too much warm color processing, because this austere undertone best matches her state of mind. The wrinkles of the skirt hem, the texture of the shirt, the reflection of the umbrella, and the matching of dark shoes and white socks on my feet are all trying to fit the preppy style aesthetic as much as possible. During the shooting process, I kept adjusting my breathing and gaze, trying to make every action not look deliberate, but rather flow naturally from the character's internal environment.
Thank you for being willing to read this far. No matter what you have experienced in the past, I hope everyone can be like her, bravely saying goodbye to past weaknesses and finding what you truly want to protect. May happiness always be with you in your future life. And may we all play our proudest movements in our respective worlds.
