Today's beach swimsuit photoshoot for Shirasu Azusa from Blue Archive was successfully completed. Location shoots are always full of the unknown and surprises, and setting the scene at the beach this time was also meant to present a brisk summer resort feel. I've always loved the color scheme of this outfit—a vibrant combination of magenta, navy blue, and white, plus a touch of bright yellow embellishment on the hairpiece, creating a strong visual contrast with the blue sky and sand. The ruffles on the outfit are intricate, making the silhouette look very light when worn. The pink big bow on the chest, the off-the-shoulder design at the neckline, and the well-placed negative space at the waist give the overall look a sweet yet exquisitely girlish feel.
The wig this time remains Shirasu Azusa's iconic silver-white long hair, topped with a golden wheat-ear-shaped halo. This prop is truly the soul of the entire look, bringing a strong sense of recognition to the character. The blue-and-pink intertwined bows and yellow small flower hair accessories on the head also capture the character's signature traits vividly. To match this summer outfit, I purposely paired it with a colorful beaded necklace, where the small moon pendant adds a playful touch. The blue wedge sandals on my feet were also carefully selected; not only does the color echo the navy blue on the outfit, but the thick-soled wedge design also provides great support on uneven surfaces like the beach, making standing and sitting postures look more natural and slender.
To better blend into the environment, we laid a blue-and-white striped picnic mat on the beach as the foundation for the main scene. Next to it sat a black vintage small suitcase and some daily beach toys, such as a small orange bucket and a little shovel. These small items not only enriched the frame but also added a lot of everyday atmosphere to the entire set of photos. Shooting wasn't actually easy; the wind by the sea was very strong, and the wig and the halo on top were easily blown messy, but this accidentally captured that languid atmosphere gently caressed by the sea breeze.
In terms of overall pose design, I also tried some relatively relaxed postures. For example, sitting on that black suitcase with legs extended, or utilizing the height difference of the small suitcase to form some staggered visual sense. These poses can show the light and fluttering texture of the clothing while highlighting summer languor. Tilting the head or looking away at something outside the lens unintentionally attempts to capture that casual and slightly aloof aura, which is also the trait of Shirasu Azusa I have always wanted to present. Although she looks very quiet and obedient on the surface, there might be a hint of mischief hidden beneath.
Although the shooting process wasn't too tiring, stepping on the beach and moving between locations still consumed a lot of physical energy. Fortunately, nature cooperated, and the lighting was very soft, with the blue sea stretching to the horizon, leaving plenty of room for post-production with this natural background light. After the final shots came out, I was very satisfied with this bright, fresh, high-key retouching style. It not only preserves the character's natural skin tone and clothing details, but also fills the whole set of photos with a cool and refreshing summer vibe. I hope this carefully crafted summer swimsuit Shirasu Azusa can let everyone feel this unique seaside coolness and joy. Every time I play a character, it's a brand new experience; although the preparation work is tedious, the moment I see the final photos, I feel all the hard work was worth it.
