This set of Ami Mizuno convention photos was taken at the CD30 convention. Taking advantage of having some time today, I wanted to record the shooting details and behind-the-scenes feelings of this session.

When I decided to cosplay this classic blue sailor suit, it was mainly to restore Ami Mizuno's intellectual yet cool temperament. The overall costume is dominated by blue and white colors. The large bow on the chest and the blue heart-shaped three-dimensional decoration right in the middle are the visual focal points, while the sailor collar at the neckline and the white translucent mesh puff sleeves add a sense of lightness. The blue choker around the neck features a golden star-shaped pendant, echoing the golden tiara on the forehead. The wig was specially trimmed into layered chin-length short hair. For the makeup, blue contact lenses were worn, pinkish eyeshadow was used as a base for the eye makeup, and the outer corners of the eyes were deepened, aiming to highlight the character's gentleness and calmness.

The sunlight on the day of the convention was extremely strong, and the venue was an outdoor white reflective ground. This high-key ambient light is actually very hard to control and prone to overexposure, but the upside is that natural light gives the image great transparency. The photographer was very professional, guiding us to find angles in the noisy environment of the convention. I tried several different poses: one was standing sideways with arms extending backwards, another was with hands crossed over the chest, and there was also an interactive pose leaning forward with hands reaching toward the camera. To ensure the character's image, I tried to keep my spine straight when posing, because Ami Mizuno is not only a smart top student, but also a responsible, steady guardian. Therefore, in terms of expression management, I required myself to maintain a confident and gentle smile.

The shooting process for this set of convention photos was very enjoyable. In fact, on November 22, 2023, I also went to see OOR's performance; that live gave me a lot of energy, putting me in a particularly good state for this convention shoot. Walking around the venue in this outfit, I was recognized by many fellow fans, and everyone was very friendly. Although the long gloves and wig were a bit stuffy outdoors, seeing the luster refracted by the blue hair strands in the sunlight in the final photos, as well as the perfectly restored costume details, made all the hard work feel worth it.

Regarding the character Ami Mizuno, I have always felt that she is not only the Mercury guardian, but also a representative of gentleness and resilience. I am extremely satisfied with the craftsmanship details of this costume, from the gradient blue on the chest to the pleats on the skirt, everything stands up to scrutiny. Shooting convention photos is just like this—it requires the right time, place, and people; the angle of light, the state of the person, and the completeness of the costume are all indispensable. Through this shoot, I also gained new insights into how to control facial shadows under strong light and how to pose with a wide-angle lens. Moving forward, I will continue to hone my makeup, styling, and camera expression, striving to bring more soulful characters to life.
