The first few sets were shot before grand European architecture bathed in abundant sunlight, where the building's carved reliefs displayed sharp dimensionality under the bright illumination. Standing on the stone steps waving the ribbon required tensing my toes to maintain center-of-gravity balance. Later, we relocated to the seaside harbor where the coastal wind was exceptionally strong, threatening to blow up the skirt at any moment. To stabilize the frame, I leaned firmly against the railing in profile, allowing the wind-blown fabric to drape as naturally as possible.
The most photogenic shots were undoubtedly the full-body captures on the backlit balcony and walking down the spiral staircase. Backlighting penetrated the sheer white lace, crowning the silhouette with a soft, glowing rim light. Leaning against the stone balustrade, the photographer instructed me to deliberately shift my weight onto one leg to visually elongate leg contours. Meanwhile, candid shots walking down the spiral staircase holding the cane required coordinating the rhythm of the skirt's sway with each step, evoking the elegance of gliding across a theatrical stage. This series demanded precise lighting control; we reviewed monitor playback multiple times to calibrate the backlight angles. The on-set collaboration, pose direction, and lighting management were deeply rewarding, offering valuable experience for mastering similar garments in future Outdoor photography.
