[Hikawa Hina cosplay] BanG Dream! Twin Stars' Leisurely Afternoon

Today, I met up with my bestie at this cozy cafe featuring wooden stairs to shoot this casual JK uniform set we've been preparing for a while. Paired with light teal-green wigs and cool-toned makeup, it resonated wonderfully with the relaxed atmosphere under the warm lighting of the shop. During early preparations, we decided that when portraying the Hikawa twin duo—Hikawa Hina cosplay and Hikawa Sayo cosplay—we needed to distinguish them in costume details as much as possible while maintaining that subtle twin synergy. On the left, a shirt with a cream-white V-neck knit vest, plaid pleated skirt, and small cream-colored bows on both sides of the hair gave off a gentle, everyday feel; on my side, a light-blue sailor-collar short-sleeved top with a dark navy ribbon tie, paired with fluffy light-blue long curly hair, created a fresh and energetic school vibe.

The lighting in this cafe corner was very satisfying. Spotlights from the ceiling brought out the wig texture completely, showing a soft matte luster rather than overexposed harsh highlights. The makeup wasn't applied heavily this time, only accentuating dark diffusion under the eyes, which paired with light-colored contact lenses to give the eyes a deeper, more expressive look matching the character's slightly mysterious, cool aesthetic. While I often try other styles, every time I put on a wig in this color, I truly feel as if I've stepped into that world of music and bonds in BanG Dream!.

Our photography partner @ice Sha is very skilled at capturing moments in such a relaxed atmosphere. Today, beyond channeling that everyday twin vibe, we also brought two adorable plush toys as coordinating props. That Miffy rabbit plush wearing onesie pajamas with a blue moon-and-star pattern and a matching nightcap was a thoughtful little highlight we prepared. Holding it against the chest gave the frame an authentic lifestyle feel—it doesn't look like forced posing, but rather genuine Daily life with bestie fragments of two girls hanging out and enjoying treats on a weekend.

Speaking of life fragments, delicious food is naturally indispensable. We ordered a plate of golden, crispy french fries sprinkled with shredded seaweed and special seasonings, served with a cup of ketchup. Poking at them with two small bamboo skewers, even our eating poses were in sync. A light, upbeat tune was playing from the phone speakers; watching the rhythm on screen formed a wonderful match with the tempting fast food in front of us. We shot several photos holding the fries, as well as close-up selfies eating them—holding two fries in a V-shape by the lips while making cute finger gestures. This slightly quirky yet natural interaction captured the most authentic state.

Throughout the shoot, we both genuinely loved the plush props. Especially that giant white rabbit; holding it made our whole mood soften up. This is probably why we chose to publish these photos under the ACG life archive, because compared to grand or elaborate sets, these everyday, slice-of-life records resonate more deeply with the other side of the characters in our hearts—not just dazzling stars on stage, but sisters living ordinary lives and keeping each other company.

Styling the hair and caring for the wigs also took some effort. To avoid an overly synthetic plastic look, extensive smoothing and parting treatments were done beforehand. The styling on the left needed two small pigtails with bows, secured firmly yet looking natural, with ends cut dynamically rather than rigidly. The one on the right required fluffing and volume adjustment so the strands draped just past the shoulders, forming a great layered look with the sailor collar. The lighting angle also greatly affected the wig color; the ambient light here highlighted this desaturated minty blue beautifully, looking much softer than under cool white light.

Shooting this genre in a cafe tests snapshot timing. The two of us are used to making impromptu adjustments based on the scene, such as staggered front-and-back positioning for depth of field, or leaning together toward the lens with goofy gestures. Making cat-paw poses together or leaning in for various selfie expressions were moments we found especially fun. Even simple angles holding up peace signs captured that natural chemistry between friends best.

Prop selection plays an essential role in cosplay. That little bunny plush wasn't a random purchase; we specifically chose the patterned pajama version so it blended into the color composition without stealing the limelight from the subjects. Even zooming in on these photos, the details hold up with high marks, from the silky smooth wigs to the neat, wrinkle-free garments.

Oh, and I'm so glad we wore light-colored contact lenses. Although the eye color is softened on camera, it unifies the cool, translucent tone, reducing the uncanny valley of real-life features. Every successful shoot—especially with a good friend—is always a joyful experience. Taking advantage of the bright autumn light, recording these snippets with sunshine, coffee, and the company of someone you cherish is truly healing. Today's share doesn't have elaborate lore; it simply delivers the lazy, cozy afternoon we experienced. Looking at these freshly taken photos on screen, time truly flies.
