Shooting Night cherry blossom photography until almost midnight—looking like I was still alive on the outside, but in reality my soul had already clocked out for a while. The photographer turned around only to find Reimu Hakurei driving away in her car. This time I cosplayed Reimu Hakurei Cosplay from Touhou Project.

The first two photos capture the light and shadow inside the car, where the light-toned interior matched the blue-and-white 'Ao Reimu' (blue Reimu) styling wonderfully. The lighting conditions inside the car were quite unique; to evenly illuminate my face, the photographer used an off-camera flash, giving the naturally dim environment a rich, cinematic texture. The panda plush on the center console happened to be a prop I brought along, adding a relaxed, casual vibe.

After finishing the car interior shoot, we rushed through the night for the Night cherry blossom photography session. The night cherry blossom trees had a very dark background environment, and artificial lights illuminating the petals worked even better than daylight, endowing the entire frame with a tranquil atmosphere. Because I styled as Ao Reimu, the overall color tone leaned cool with subdued contrast, completely different from daytime studio shoots. After finishing this set, I switched into a red-and-white outfit; the red-and-white color scheme stood out even more vividly against the dark cherry blossom background.

We adjusted camera angles repeatedly during the shoot. Thanks to the primary camera's RAW format, a lot of shadow detail was recovered during Cosplay post-processing while highlight details on the cherry blossoms were preserved. The park in the dead of night was virtually deserted; wrapping up was truly exhausting, and sinking back into the car brought an overwhelming sense of relief. Importing the raw photos into editing software, I spent considerable time fine-tuning colors, light, and shadow. People are still creating Touhou content nowadays; everyone in the community works hard, but it is precisely this passion and persistence for Touhou Project that gives cosplay photography a special meaning in our 2D daily life. Although this night cherry blossom shoot lasted very late and was quite complex, the finished photos exceeded expectations.
