For this shoot of Hiyuki cosplay in her red-and-white Japanese style look from Wuthering Waves, the focus was placed on leveraging Japanese-themed studio sets and props to refine the visual composition of the Studio photoshoot. The white top of the outfit is made of lustrous silk fabric; under the warm lighting, the red skirt and black straps show rich texture, while details like the waist belt and thigh garters were also handled with meticulous care. During the shoot, the most frequently used props were the large red-backed folding fan and the black katana. Opening the fan can veil half the face, or utilizing the straight lines of the scabbard to divide the frame enriches the composition significantly. The seated shots tested physical flexibility quite a bit, requiring legs to be extended straight or placed to the side to flatter leg lines across the tatami mats—this posture worked wonderfully in harmony with the billowing red-and-white skirt hem. For the full-body standing shots, pairing the look with white high heels elongated the overall silhouette. We also made use of a white umbrella, where the ribs formed a striking contrast against the dark background. The lighting on set mainly employed warm side-backlighting to give the edges of the white hair a defined rim light without casting overly heavy facial shadows, and post-processing largely retained this warm reddish palette without heavy-handed editing. Overall, striking a balance between dynamic physical tension and static elegance in this Anime cosplay styling was challenging—especially conveying emotion through the eyes, where some close-ups required a subtle downward glance while others demanded looking straight into the lens, taking several attempts to perfect. This photoshoot largely revolved around the folding fan and weaponry; I am personally most satisfied with the moment of drawing the blade while flicking back the sleeve—it carries substantial power and aligns seamlessly with the overarching aesthetic design.
